Here is how it is.
I warned them 2 years ago that the reapers were coming.
I warned them a few weeks ago that they were nearly here.
When they come and f*ck my home planet. I wont be warning them anymore.

My primary Shepard is not going to get miffed about past snubs, or anything like that- the turian councilor is an ass, that's all. However, it's game time. The Reapers are here, no more "sorry Shepard, we need more proof". If they are still being uncooperative, and it's costing lives, then burning resources to save their hides again may simply not happen- the whole reason that Shepard saved the Council in the first place is so galactic infrastructure would remain steady, and he'd have the most powerful political organization backing him if/when the Reapers arrived.

I have one or two true paragon Shepards. For all the rest, they don't want to throw it in the face of the Council so much as they want Councilor Valarn to sputter about like an idiot. The other members were annoying, but they were cordial. Valarn is a dick.

In my first completed Shep, I killed the Council. Not because they were douches, but because I didn't know how holding back part of the fleet to defend the DA might impact taking down Sovereign. Of course, after the fact, I realized that helping the DA didn't give Sovereign an opportunity to get away, and since then I usually save the Council. That said, while I may end up with a full Paragon meter, I always have at least two slots on the Renegade bar full as well and the council is one of those places where, even in the first game, I didn't take any s***. Don't wanna believe me? Fine. Don't come crying when the s*** hits the fan.

I'll be just as rude to them in ME3 as I was in ME1 and 2, once they proved to be useless and unsupportive.

I'll be nice as usual. I won't bring myself down to their level. I will be tempted though, if I get the feeling that continuing to be a paragon around them isn't doing anything worthwhile I will sign off that conversation in whatever renegade way is possible that doesn't screw things up later on down the line.

From what I've heard the council will FINALLY accept that that Reapers are real.

.....

.....

Then they will tell you to **** off. It's a human problem and if you want to be a Council race you had better handle it.

Swear to god I'm going to space them this time.

For all the players that saved the Council during the attack on the Citadel.  For all the people who had a full paragon bar halfway through the game.  Kept true to the idea to not compromise your character to get the mission done.

When you are told to seek help from the Council after the assault on Earth....who here will remember all the times they called you a loon, delusional, and every other name in the book....

So with this in mind..who here is planning on taking off the gloves when going back to the council?  I am, myself, planning on treating them like the puppy that's been caught going to the bathroom on the carpet in the living room.   pretty much intend to get the majority of my Renegade points from that conversation alone...

Just curious, is all.

Nope. Gotta stick to my blue bar or shep can't magically convince people to do stuff. If I switch now i'll probably gimp myself.

....I hate the persuasion system.

Since the new reputation system includes a modifier for doing things any which way, it may be much easier for people to play Paragade. Not what I'll be doing myself, but I thought I'd just mention that for people who might.

I see no reason why I should be mean at them. I'll present my case, try my best to get trough, if it doesn't work, I'll just do without them. Diplomacy is my main way of doing things.

But I can't win them all. But I'll try. No need to be childish about it.

I plan on being very civil toward them. I hope they become so proud of our alliance that they actually let me meet them in person.

Then I will kill the Turian.

I found it easier to play Renegon in ME 2, actually.  That was before I discovered the Save editor too.

I'm paragon and I don't plan on having an "I told you so" moment with them. But I do hope we have the option of explaining to them who's going to be next if they don't get behind me fully this time.

The council are politicians. politicians are liars, thieves and Self worshipers. a paragon looks at the race as a whole, and does not judge them by the actions of the politicans. A renegade takes what the council says personally , and acts accordingly.

the difference is greater good vs ego.

Still won't change my shepard in believing and trusting in the alien council from the get go from 1 thru 2, I will still go after them in 3 and say hey listen you should do something and I've warned you and warned you but still look what happened the galaxy is in danger open your freakin eyes. Still after that I will remain loyal to the council and always will. For me my shepards they don't see themselves as alliance anymore, they see themselves as purely an employee of the council and it doesn't matter if a human is a council member or not.

I'm not...

Because I'm a paragon.

If someone not believing you, and denying you makes you "go renegade," you were never a paragon in the first place. A paragon doesn't do things for someone to pat them on the back, a paragon does things because they believe them to be right.

Never get a dog, it's obvious you have NO idea how to properly raise or care for one.

I have only one pure paragon, and she'll be as diplomatic and even-tempered as she always is when dealing with the Council. It's how she is.

But this is why I have only one pure paragon and one pure renegade. Renegon/paragade are much more flexible and enjoyable, I think.

Worst offender has got to be when Shep finds Garrus in ME2.

Shep takes Garrus' sniper rifle to scope the mech advance and... firing it is apparently a renegade act?! No, really? You probably kill hundreds of those things. Why is it renegade now? Huh? HUH BIO?

Still.. all blue for me :/

Mostly Paragade here, I have saved the council every play through. That being said, the only thing I want to be able to do is shove the 'Ah Yes Reapers' down the Turian Councilor's throat. Other than that we're good.
