Lately I started playing with my female human Vanguard and in 8/10 lobbies I join at least one person quits. I'm guessing it's because I'm a low level and or a Vanguard because most of the other players are high level Adpets, Engineers etc.

What's worse is I'm only playing Bronze challenges. I'm a very careful player. In my last four games I went down only twice, but had to revive quite a few other players.

Is this what's to come of the full game? Snobs in every lobby just looking for other high level players of the classes they deem are worthy?

I would hope it is not. People are strange though. If you haven't rocked with a vanguard I say you haven't rocked.

In a bronze it shouldn't matter class or lvl. The team can be successful without much difficulty.

Silvers and golds shouldn't have people below lvl 10

imo it's stupid to boot LVL1 Players at Silver as well... i for myself played through all ME Games on Insanity and started MP at silver right away... and i havent had ANY problems (and i played human male adept).
and it's disgusting that ppl always think that a lvl 50 is better than a lvl 20... everyone can get to lvl 50 by playing bronze all day and have no skill at all tho... and the lvl 20 mayb a hardcore ME player that rules every round

Cap is 20 bro and people leave/boot lv 1's on silver because they have to be carried. They basically have nothing and the majority of the time they're horrible.

I've done my share of lobby hopping. Every time I join a silver challenge game that has people with an N7 rating of <10 I sigh and leave. And yes, I've tried playing silver with a lobby full of low rankers and it just never works. Sooo....

It totally is snobbery. My main account is 107 N7 and people ready up instantly when I join. When I try to play on my second account and I'm low level, people leave right away.

One time I joined a lobby with one guy and I told him to ready up, and we'll be fine. He left. So I searched again and joined a group with the same guy, and another guy who was level 80 or something. He didn't leave. Then I ended up having something like 25k more points than either of them.

It's really stupid behavior.

This is incorrect. Even if you're a skilled player, you simply lack the damage and survivablilty increase that having maxed skills and higher level weapons gives you.

Welcome to online gaming era,
where everyone plays perfect and thinking everyone else is worse then them. :)
This is similar in every multiplay game. Find some friends playing ME3 and play with them, thats the you avoid snobs.

Honestly, in Silver or Gold, the probability that the level 1 N7 taking an eternity to click on "ready" is some badass that beat insanity with adept one handed on the first run in Mass Effect 2 is very low.

There's no deviation between classes at level 1 besides base stats. It's essentially point and shoot your way through the waves until the next round. As I've said before most if not all lv 1's that attempt silver fail because they lack the skills to do anything worthwhile. All they're doing is taking up slot space. Do you know why a lv 1 would "own" silver? It's because they're getting carried.

also fyi it's called the n7 rating, not overall level.

Ah... hang on a sec there. Having a lvl 1 character selected does not equate to being N7 1 rating. The former doesn't mean you don't have the playtime to have already unlocked several rank X weapons. Having a lvl 1 class selected though, does mean that you don't have any points in Fitness and the hp/shields boost that goes with it.

Minor detail, but it makes the difference.

Newbtastic: you always talking about lacking skills... sure its not the most damage you get out of a level one, but (at least for me) i was always on top since lvl 1 in silver in the teamrating :P and there were many lvl 60+ in my teams at the start. i even did silver with two others below lvl 10 and we cleared every wave.

no, you don't. Even if you know how to play it(which most of ME fans do),you powers will be pretty much useless.Or you don't have enough hp to survive a single burst from Centurion. No "owning" will occur.
There are some exceptions, like Stasis,or Tactical Cloak, but overall, it's not worth it to go on silver with low level chars trying to show off your "skillz".

I get trash talked because I headbutt/pimp hand everything to death as my Krogan yet I'm always the last man standing or at the top of the scoreboards. Image IPB

No you can't.

500 hp and no useful abilties or guns makes it impossible for you to "own"

I think you're assuming things that arent necessarily so... unless of course this "quitter" said you were the reason he/her was leaving.

I've joined games with a level 20 class on bronze where most of the players were level 10+ and seen people quit. Quite frankly, people probably are just done playing, and considering most people arent using mics, it means you'll not hear the reason for leaving.

truthfully, I'm sure if people want a low level person gone, they'll simply use the "kick player" option, rather than quit.

I honestly don't give a care about who is what level. If you have low numerals, oh well! We'll just play a round and if I see you're severely lacking, I'll just leave the lobby whenever the game ends.

There's been several times seeing players run over to disable an objective as I am already disabling it. In fact, two people came over and started to do it as I was already doing it. One player actually continued to do the same objective even after it was finished. The worst part are players who do not know about the full extraction bonus. In the end I usually tell them over mic what's up. Maybe they'll be better players next time around.

Oh true, I forgot that a high level N7 may have great weapons on a level 1. Then yeah, they're just gimped in the skill area but still stand a much better chance in silver.

So really I should've just said if they're a very low N7 then they'll be ineffective in silver.

The worst of it is... I've seen players leave when a lvl 1 joins in on Bronze. ON BRONZE!! It's gonna be tough getting a good match when your just starting off. I hope this gets fixed somehow to make it fair for those that will just be starting out.

Snobbery in the lobbery. Yep. Parsing. *cleans glasses* I tend to stick to Bronze, I like helping N71's level. I also find the difficulty in Bronze is fairly high. Maybe it's just me (ogawdcliche!) but I think there should be at least another difficulty where people can get used to the game without getting slaughtered in later waves. Copper?

Not a huge deal for me so far. Most people aren't jerks.

It happened to me when I first started using the demo. With the Soldier is was less often but as a Vanguard people ducked out because I was a "low level." Funny thing is once I adjusted to this game's MP, I dominate the scoreboard on a given average even now using my Infiltrator. Granted, this is on Bronze and only a handful of Silver games but still. People care too much about levels. Even if you suck, just give me some adequate support fire or distract the enemy and I'm happy.
