No you can't.

500 hp and no useful abilties or guns makes it impossible for you to "own"

I agree with what you are saying. Sadly, people think you are a snobb, elitist or worse. If you say something like that. I have tried to run on level gold today with people on low n7 rank and it all went down hill even on silver it's downhill. I startet all my first 50 playthruogh on bronze slowly upgrading my characters and weapon. Dying a lot and making huge mistakes. But, then I learn a lot too. Only when I had characters reaching level 20 did I started to play on silver or gold. People saying you can beat the game with a level 1 character, sure, I believe you, just because you say it then it must be true right. Sadly I have not experience it.

I also agree that people are being rude if they kick low level player out from the lobby. Never done it myself. Some people forget that they too was on a low level once. But, if you are on a low level trying to go on silver. I suggest you bring your a game.

I've never joined a Snobby Lobby, and I hope I don't.

A few days ago, I was playing as a new character and people (levels in the 7-14 range on a bronze challenge) kept leaving the lobby as soon as my level 1 self showed up (usually I was the last person to fill a slot)

I was like, "really guys?" and left to sort myself into another match.

I've only been kicked from a lobby once - and that was because they had the slot open for their friend because you know how reliable join / invite is through Origin.

I let it slide.

Haven't come across any snobbery at all. If anything - everyone seems pretty good natured and fun.

I'm not gonna deny when I go for a quick match on silver and find myself with a load of level 1-5s I just leave straight away.

A lot of people leave early because there's no "join as party" feature and they're searching for games to invite their friend(s) to.

There are quite a few threads about that here in BSN, at least for Xbox and PC, never saw one for PS3. :)

Hey guys, you know what's fun? Being dropped straight into a game in progress instead of the lobby. It's always a surprise because you don't actually know what each player's rank or character level is. Sometimes you feel like the hero, since you joined when everyone was downed, or you feel like the underdog, since you have 0 points and fewer waves to catch up to the others. I enjoy the randomness of it. I've also been pleasantly surprised, and also unsurprised, when after a match is completed and I get to see what everyone's level and rank actually is. If I spent a lot of time reviving others and actually managed to jump to the top of the scoreboard, I'm not too surprised when I see that I was playing with players at a lower level or rank. If I and another player were neck-and-neck with points though, I'm not surprised when I see that their character and rank are appropriately high. While points, levels, and ranks aren't everything... they can certainly give you a very good indication of a player's skill and/or experience with the game.

Oh, and if you played a game as a low-level character with high-level characters, but you spent a lot of time reviving them, it may be because their character is specced for all-out offense with little to no points in health and shields. It'd be nice if we could also see a player's health and shields in the lobby so we would have a better idea of just who will be upfront and who will be watching the rear... or who'll be saving your rear.

I have never kicked somebody. I've always asked if someone could leave because I am either setting up a game for Australians only so the players don't have to put up with lag or if I am showing friends who are new to the game the ropes.

I've always been incredibly polite since my first years of gaming online and I am sure as hell not going to start being a rude ****** now.

the N7 rank matters more. You can have a level 10 guy with a high N7 rank and you know he's got the chops and gear to hack it.

level 1 rank/level 1 character I'm quitting or voting to kick if you're trying to play a silver or above.

Bronze? No biggie. Two competent players can do a bronze alone.

Wow, I've been super lucky on 360. Played several rounds with some really nice guys last night and a really cool BSNer and their friends this afternoon. Neither of them were jerks to me, both sets helped me out with advice(and laughter when I'd really shoot something wide or die, get revived, and then get swarmed and die again), but none of them were peeved at me for being a crappy player. I don't think I've run into any jerks, in this specific demo. Now some other, more popular multi player games... LOL.

I can't really shoot anything to save my rear, but I'm all over running around and reviving people or seeking out objectives. If I happen on a game with people who are lower than I am, I don't care. I figure my level is more luck than talent, although I will say that I don't give up. I keep trying, keep learning, keep hoping I'll get the hang of the MP and be able maybe finish third, instead of fourth.

I guess I'm not upset by losing a level or whatever, I figure the only way to learn is to play. And too, I figure there are probably lots of people like me - who came into ME for the story and not for the format(people who come from an RPG background where it's all about melee and slinging spells and not worrying about crosshairs and reticules to land a hit) - and are gonna have a learning curve, LOL!

Come on guys, mp was supposed to be about fun... Who cares if everybody will die at the first wave? Or if you are the only one that will survive each wave, having to deal with every enemy? If you lose the match, you'll get the xp and the creds you earned so far, so just start again and enjoy the challenge. Eventually the lv 1 will level up, learn to play and everyone will run through gold like it was easy. No need for hate... It's just a game!!!

But who are you to determine what other people should find fun?

I know this sounds crazy, but a lot of people find winning more fun than losing.

Take a closer look on what I said. I never said what is fun or not. I just said it was (again) "supposed to be about fun".
And I understand what you said about winning and losing. It's a matter of personal opinion. I stated mine.

I understand what you mean, but soloing gold with 4 level ones is not my idea of fun!

Fair enough. Leave the lobby and invite friends who have a higher level for a private match.

Again, will state my personal opinion: it's just a game. FOR ME the fun is in playing the game. Not winning or losing.

I hear you Diego, I just think the match making system needs to be tweaked. They shouldn't be put in gold in the first place. Bronze idk about level, Silver I don't really care too much esp if I'm an infiltrator I could carry the team mostly. Gold under 12 and I'm going to question it at least.

This is a true story. Yesterday when I was log into a lobby on level gold. There was already three players there. Two high N7 and one low N7. The other two was screaming at the low level guy and screaming at me for not kicking him out. I thought that was stupid and log of that lobby. I don't like bullies no matter what form. I hope people remember that when they will start afresh when the real game is out. Karma is a **** what goes around comes around. By the way I'm a N7 level 120 and I do not support bullies.

Good to know that, and better yet that I have you between my friends on Origin. My engineer is lv 20, I'm trying to level up the other classes now, they are all about level 10.

Just hook me up tonight and maybe together we can help each other. I help you to level up and you give a me good game time. I'm still longing for the Claymore.

To be fair to the OP, I have joined numerous lobbies with my level 20 engineer and people still leave. I don't think its necessarily level discrimination, as much as it is that people are just picky and fickle. it could be your level, or your class, or maybe they just finished the round earlier and don't want to play anymore. i wouldn't make too many assumptions though, you never know what other people are thinking or doing.

If you are on Silver I would understand but on Bronze it shouldn't make a huge difference. Although maybe it's me but I think the lobbies are really glitchy.

Everyone start as a newbie. When there's low levels in the lobby, I just go bronze with them, to give them the chance to learn and get some level. In the end of the day, I won some more experienced guys to play Silver and Gold with me. Just be patient, help who are starting now, them play private matchs with them. Now I have people enough in my Origin to receive invitations every time I log in.

I can literally beat bronze by my self with a krogan soldier or an asari adept easily. (I haven't tried it with any others)
If they kick you out of a bronze because you're a low level or your class, but they were higher leveled, they probably weren't good.

I have been guilty for kicking out lower leveled people out of silver and gold matches, though.  But most of the time it's because they won't ready up after 5 minutes.

Every time I join a lobby at least 1-2 people leave immediately, I have even been kicked for being low level then them and I am a level 30 I think.

I have also encountered people being abusive towards me or other low levels.

And this is just a DEMO – if people are getting worked up about it now what will happen when the FULL game is released..

What a wonderfully benevolent thing to do! I have nothing but respect for you, sir. That's such a good idea I think I'll start doing it too.
