More to the topic though, I can't say I've encountered much ill behaviour. Worst was a kick for no apparent reason to me (I was on a mid-10s engineer I think?).
That blows that there's abusive crap going on though. I wonder if this is specific to a particular platform or country/region?

Bronze/Silver should be open for everyone regardless of their N7 or character level. Everyone starts as a newbie like LeandroBraz said. I even died many times when I first started playing it. Now after I found the class that I can work with and already fully leveled up, I just roll with others even if they have low level characters. I just stay with them and help them whenever I can. At least that way, we can finish together and they can even level up their characters more as well as buy better equipments.

As for gold, I rarely play in public lobby (usually its private and with bsn members or their friends). There are few times when the host forgot to set the lobby to private and a random level 1 character joins while we were waiting for another friend to join in. We had to kick him/her and I felt a lil guilty. If that ever happens, I apologize in advance as we don't mean it to happen.

Oh, and by no means should we shout/call names/mock/etc to a person just to shoo them from the lobby. If they want someone to drop out of the lobby, ask politely. You never know when that person might be the only one who can revive you when you're down :)

And lastly, have fun when playing! :wizard:

I haven't gotten too much flack in the lobby but last night I ran into my first grade-a class jerks. [Cussing, kill stealing, blah blah]

i ment overall lvl... im not stupid mate. and as i said before, you can even own silver with a lvl 1 char if u know how to play your class

That's a huge risk one would have to make, and because good lvl 1's aren't common, it's not a risk most are willing to take. Even if said level 1 is a super awesome 1337 skilled player who plays on insanity on ME1 and ME2, higher levels are bigger assets in silver/gold simply because they have access to more guns, classes, mods, upgrades, equipment, etc.

I wouldn't call it snobbery, but impatience when I join some lobbies. Before I manage to decide on a weapon layout within the first few moments there's a vote to kick or two on my name. Funny thing is it's in a silver match and my char is usually high teens while the attempted kickers are barely double digit levels or below me.

In a bronze it shouldn't matter class or lvl. The team can be successful without much difficulty.

Silvers and golds shouldn't have people below lvl 10

No if they ever put in restrictions like that they will see a real outrage and not like the stupid dlc outrage

Whenever I enter (N7 112), one of two things happens.

Everybody instantly becomes ready while I'm still deciding on what class I should play
or
Everybody leaves

Pah, everyone hates on carrying. I lucked out and got invited to a silver match, told them I was gonna really suck, and I did, and they didn't care. Jumped their points to have to revive me every couple seconds. On that note, they would carry me to, and through, round 11, I leveled up real fast and now have become semi-useful. Now we take on low levelers, I help with the carrying, and we all have a grand old time playing Knight in Shining armour. Kicking people for any other reason then you forgot to make a game private and now your buddy can't get in cause joe schmo ninja'd that spot it just mean.

Lately I started playing with my female human Vanguard and in 8/10 lobbies I join at least one person quits. I'm guessing it's because I'm a low level and or a Vanguard because most of the other players are high level Adpets, Engineers etc.

What's worse is I'm only playing Bronze challenges. I'm a very careful player. In my last four games I went down only twice, but had to revive quite a few other players.

Is this what's to come of the full game? Snobs in every lobby just looking for other high level players of the classes they deem are worthy?

This behaviour is unacceptable in a bronze match.  I'd say it should be the opposite in a bronze match, high levels dominating and killing everything while lower levels are trying to get points to level.  That's just annoying and inconsiderate. I only use my high level characters if it's just me and someone else.  Even then, the game is ridiculously easy on bronze with 2 high levels.

Since everyone's points counts towards the final xp award, it shouldn't really matter in that regard. What would matter is whether or not it's cutting into someone's enjoyment.

Welcome to online gaming era,
where everyone plays perfect and thinking everyone else is worse then them. :)
This is similar in every multiplay game. Find some friends playing ME3 and play with them, thats the you avoid snobs.

It is especially hilarious when you are a very low level and manage to wipe the floor with someone high-level; play Red Dead Redemption as a level under 10 after learning how to get headshots consistently and high level people will rage because you are low level so you must be cheating

So, this morning I looked at my N7 118 rating and thought to myself "Let's finish leveling up my Human female vanguard". Ok, I search lobbies on gold and most of the time I get people who are low level, completly underprepared, the usual. So I find decent looking players with lvl 15 and above, there's an asari adept and salarian infiltrator with a widow, so I think "This gonna be easy - stasis for phantoms, infiltrator's widow for the Atlases, me for crowd control - awesome." Next thing I see infiltrator guy puts a kick mark on me and starts ****ing about my vanguard. Ok, whatever, we still go into a game. And guess what, even though we have a decent squad composition we get hammered into the ground by 7th wave. Ok, let's see whose fault it was shall we? it turns out my vanguard is first, infiltrator behind me and asari adept completely behind (I enjoy playing both of those classes in multiplayer most and always get pretty decent results, so only conclusion I can make is that they are complete and incapable hypocrtitic morons). Fine, I move on.

Then I go to silver and 9/10 times once I connect someone immediately leaves or lobby is far from full. I do my share of lobby hopping, play a few games, frequently players just disconnect from an ongoing game, make things harder, so I get progressively angrier. Still 180k short to lvl20 I get frustrated of the lack of decent people and go bronze to scrape up those last points.

So bronze was waaaaaaay too easy I mauled eveything, but I guess other people weren't so happy because of the overall 100k xp mine was abaout 50-60k, people were disconnecting mid game.

All in all, as I haven't played any multiplayer games except CS1.6, i see hipocrisy and lack of cooperation evrywhere. So, playing this game without friends is just retarded to me because with people I most often get the gameplay experience is less than rewarding.

i dont normally join random rooms, havent dealt with this issue much. thats totally deliberate of course, i dont like dealing with elitist crybabys who think theyre gods gift to gaming

i play with friends and friends of friends almost exclusively. i dont care whose playing so long as we win and no one is on the mic playing music or screaming at their kinect [it happens]

my friends list has also ballooned from 45 to 80 ppl since the ME3 demo came out: adding anyone that speaks and plays well gives me plenty of options to join games when i load up

I'll add my haypence worth.

I will not do Gold with people under level 12 or so, it's just too damn hard. Silver, I'll check their N7 rating and gear and decide for myself on that - class is irrelevent. Bronze, all are welcome. We all start somewhere.

My biggest beef is two-fold. The plural of beef is beef, so I think the previous sentence makes sense... anyway, first is that in Silver and Gold games, lower level players tend to quit once they realise how hard it is, which has a somewhat adverse affect on my own enjoyment of the game, particularly when they're hosting the game. I hate getting dropped after we make it through to wave 7 or so because of their frustration (Silver, anyway, Gold's a bit different, only takes a wave or two for that).

Secondly, for all the talk of this being co-op, the number of posters here who use the xp total as validation of their own game-play seems significant, and for me is at odds with looking at the game as being a team effort. I prefer playing support roles, mostly because I've constantly had horrendous lag issues (Australia seems to suffer from that) and at least with caster classes, the targetting is not so badly affected. So I'll play around it, be the guy who'll hang back and cover the flanks while others charge right in to the thick of things (and not a vanguard reference, a playstyle thing only - my canon Shep is a VG). What I contribute cannot be measured in the kill stats, but I more than tow my weight in any good team. I know that there'll be at least a few less rezzes every time I play. Again, won't show up in points, but it matters. So before you congratulate yourself next time on topping the points table, ask yourself why you're not playing solo ;)

And for the record, I'm competent, no better, but honest enough to recognise when I'm playing alongside someone really damn good. And I'll know that by their situational awareness, not their kill count.

I don't understand why so many people take other people leaving the lobby so damn personally. ZombieGambit, people have lives outside of gaming, and just because they leave doesn't automatically mean it has anything to do with you, or anyone else in the lobby. Sure some people might do that but who cares about them. The lobby is there for people to team up but not everyone is on the same schedule, and I would much rather someone leave in the lobby than wait until half way through the game and leave because something else has come up.

My experiences have been largely positive. I leave the lobby mostly for the following reasons, if the team isn't balanced class wise, a friend invites me to join them, or something in life has come up. I don't discriminate against how low a level a person is because we all start out as beginners. Some people do discriminate against new players or players starting a new class but to each his own. It's their perrogative to leave the lobby, crying about it is a waste of time.

I'll be the first to say I'm not any great gift to mp, but I shouldn't be since I just started with this demo. I have gotten an adept up to level 15. I've learned how not to die more than maybe once or twice a match. I know my limitations and stay at Bronze level where I can try to learn what I'm supposed to be doing. In short, I do the best I can to not be a drag and I do my level best to cover my teammates like a good coop player should. They can get all the kills they want. I'll take the assist, and it makes me happy.

What doesn't make me happy is when people in a bronze match whom I've never played with before are kicking me before the game even starts ... wtf? It's Bronze. I guess human adepts suxxorz or something.

I think human adepts are great in bronze or silver, shaded by the asari in gold. Warp plus throw are great together, especially for warp bombs. So, basically, screw em, they have no clue. ;)

The only reason some people get kicked from a bronze match is if they are taking way too long to hit the ready button. If they take too long most people will kick them out. At most it should take you 1-2 minutes to get ready and then bam into the match.

However on the other hand there are snobs who join a bronze match and then leave abruptly if there is a very low level character in the group or the person is new to the game itself. Again snobbery is not just being kicked some will just leave the match entirely because they don't want to deal with a low level team mate.

Now this is another story. Kicking people for anything other than the fact that they are taking too long to ready up, and by too long I mean more than a couple of minutes, is rude as hell. frylock23 if you play on xbox you can add me as a friend, my gamertag is purebredcorn and my timezone is pacific standard. I will gladly play with you. I'm not any good either but I play for fun and enjoy myself.

One thing I really hate in this team match is if I set up a biotic explosion someone takes my kill before I can execute the explosion itself. I mean I hit stasis with my Asari and then wait for it to cool down before I an throw a warp. But someone will snipe the stasised person before I can unleash my warp. That really ticks me off cause the more kills you do with biotics the higher your biotic score is and that adds up to overall exp for leveling up. Especially since i rely heavily on my biotics and only carry one gun.

I dunno maybe this makes me a snob in regards to team matches but seriously if we aren't being over run by a bunch of bad guys let me have my biotic kill.

Kicking someone on Bronze? Unless you're taking too long to press Ready (as PurebredCorn said, for a few minutes) rude is not strong enough to describe those people. If you play on PC, what is your timezone? I would be glad to play with you, Bronze, Silver, Gold, not important. My timezone is GMT -2h and my Origin ID is the same as BSN's. :)

I was just playing some MP and it took about 20 minutes to find a match. I was trying to play a gold match and the first party I joined that wasn't all low level players(level 4 and below WTF) kicked me out after literally one second. I was using my level 19 Adept and no one else in the party was a biotic so I have no idea why they kicked me. After a few more tries and more groups of low level players(3 level 1 players(as in no characters above level 1) trying to take on gold? good grief) I went to random and found a decent party playing silver.
It can be a real pain just getting into a match, let alone finding players who you can work well with.
