Don't have to dislike EDI to dislike her new body. Besides the whole AIs shouldn't be trying to call attention to themselves it feels like if FemShep suddenly decided away with her armor and wore a mini skirt, or Sheploo going topless. Unless her breasts are actually assault rifles it seems like a useless design. I would have liked maybe a humanoid androgyenous look for EDI if they were set on getting her a body. And it's not like she can actually make people think she's a real person between scanning systems and what appears to be a complete lack of fake skin or other organic looking appearance modifications.

I understand you don't want to be on the receiving end, neither would I, but the facts are with me. Sometimes a company will just get an idea and follow through with it because they really want to. Even Bioware game designers consider themselves artists - they want to express their creativity.

They aren't going to create new powers, new particles for those powers, and new effects for those powers, just for 1 character.

They sort of did in ME2 with loyalty powers. Besides, disruptor torpedos are an established part of ME canon, and as a power, they could be represented by any generic missile, grenade or concussive shot animation + Warp's impact animation. I'm not saying BW definitely is gonna do this, but they kinda jumped the shark by making EDI a fembot, so I really wouldn't put it past them at this point.

EDI could always be an 'Engineer' I guess, if Tali's non-permanent.

Honestly, I'm not really upset or anything at BW creating Tin ******, but when I heard about it and saw the pics, it just seemed like an incredibly cliched thing to do. I'll need to play the full game before I can decide whether to take EDI's new incarnation seriously or not.

When asked about which ME2-exlusive character people wanted the most in ME3, it has been Miranda and Legion.
Search any topic and you´ll see what i mean.

And not everyone even likes those two, but admits their importance to the plot.

And no, this thread isn´t an "Anti-EDI-as-a-squadmate-thread".
This thread is to question BioWare´s obscene design choice to visually and thematically forge two characters into a one.

I don't know any spoilers, so I wouldn't be referring to them.
The idea is completely stupid, but so is giving Liara Electronics in ME1. I think they just ran out of abilities to give her, so they gave her Electronics.
