It happens to the best of us, does it not? It is a frustrating matter, and the fact that we can't do anything about it doesn't help in the least. Perhaps, if you wish we could continue this discussion by PM's?

No need, I think we're settled. :D

Agreed. ^_^

I agree with the OP 100%. I'm playing on Xbox AND PC and have the same issue on both.

I'm totally on board with this. It's such an obvious gaffe that I can't believe the developers didn't notice it. While testing out the multiplayer, none of them ever stopped and thought "Wow, maybe mapping Revive to the A button wasn't such a good idea"?

I'd also be okay with the reload button designated to revive for the same reasons as posted earlier (it can only miss once). I've had many people I could have revived but failed to due to this problem. By the time I was able to just wait for the action to show up, there were enemies around me I had to kill off.

This puts the "press a button and something awesome happens" into a new perspective :(

Please BW, give players the opportunity to customize. I prefer having one button to sprint, one to get into cover, and one to revive my buddies. I don't like the current system where you have to pray the game does the thing you want it to do (which it usually doesn't)

option to let us bind keys would fix it all. and they can simply put in more then 1 button layouts for the consoles. like most games do.

Seriously, this command got me killed a lot in ME2 and now in ME3 is even worse with rolling.

There's no reason not to separate those commands.

It happenes sometimes, but not all the time. But when it does, I usually end up teebaging my teamates twice in a row, like OP described. It mostly happens in those tight spaces with cover all around.
I'm not a fan of the current control scheme, I also dislike the lack of hotkeys for SP (I play on Xbox), but Bioware seems determined that this poor control scheme of theirs is the way to go. Fact is, it is very unlikely that they are going to change it, so it's best we get used to it and try to be more aware of our suroundings when we try to pick up our teamates.

Now imagine husks instead of Cerberus. Try to revive squaddie, instead end up in cover, husks everywhere... they need to allow us to customize key bindings.

I suggest jut putting revive to the reload key. X on Xbox, probably square on PS3 and prooobably r on PC. Context-sensitive so reviving takes priority, and if you miss and just reload you're fine. You're just reloading. Also, reloading is so easily cancelled you could just REHIT the reload key to revive.

If Bioware wants to keep controls casual player friendly, why cant the magic key spacebar be a default key and elitists could make their own key bindings for all the actions they want.

Also while we are on it anyone else finds the automatic aim when throwing any grenades annoying ? Why can't we turn that one off too.

Truly, I don't understand either. Of course, you can't really write it so you can link ANY key to ANY function, as then you really wouldn't know what triggers when. But in this case, Revive should take priority over Cover, and it doesn't.

Average keyboard has like 104 keys or something.

Why in the world does spacebar do 4 things? What about caps, tab, alt, control, etc ?

Instead I end up ducking behind cover and teabagging her with my Turian balls. I move out of cover quickly and aim at her, pressing spacebar as my shields go down. I teabag her again as I enter cover.

A phantom appears and skewers me so quickly that a Turkish chef who cooks kebabs all day long would have a tear running down his face at how well she does it.

Game over.

Repeat.

All hail the power of teabagging your buddy when you hit spacebar and end up dying.

The problem is that the controls of the Console are limited, so if they don't want to rewrite the entire user interface and the way it works, they'd have to use what's given. However, the problem is that they can't just say "You can link ANY key ANY where".

However, they could say that if the Revive option is up, then the Cover is disabled, for example.
That's actually somewhat simple.
