I don't understand why people are OK with this DLC not being free.

It was developed before launch and as such was created alongside the main game, it was then removed and a price tag was put on it. A Prothean is pretty damn important to the story of mass effect and this is just preying on/exploiting all the fans who want to experience the full story.

This is pretty much the same as putting an extra €10 on the price for people who want to experience the whole story.

Developed before launch and in working order SHOULD 100% mean it is included in what the consumer buys on day one.

I'm not boycotting the game as I had the CE on pre order before I heard about all of this but honestly this really is a slimy move by EA (I don't blame Bioware)

*On a side note, I find the attitudes of everyone condescending the people who say they WILL boycott to be very disturbing. Why are you all so willing to allow companies like EA to continue fragmenting your games with so many pre order bonuses, store exclusives and various versions and DLC's, exploiting you and driving series into the ground?

This thread... Has my approval.
Why? Well, this is the main reason why I'm here after all these years: I enjoy seeing how people go crazy with anything that BW announces.

1. This is at least the third game in which they've had day 1 DLC

And the first one to have day 1 payed DLC

Anyways, it doesn't really an issue for me, that's the exact reason why I pre-ordered the CE.
It's not really news anyway, I don't understand why did people get loud now? Why now?
We've known it for... I don't know, at least three months or more.

Sure it was a wand.

That's what you get for not knowing your own favorite color.

Frankly I think this is just desserts for all those people who spent months essentially trying to demand free stuff from Bioware for no real reason.

The amusing part in all of this is that, just like Origin, the people screaming and threatening to boycott will settle down and purchase the content anyway.

It's not amusing. When even the boycott doesn't work any more you can tell that the corporation is more powerful than the fanbase. =( It's not a good thing. We buy it because the only other option is not to buy it. :alien::ph34r:

Op is an ankle holder.

Meanwhile in Poland...

One of our favourite things about CDP was the fact that they didn’t just give up on The Witcher and move on, they redid the voice acting and the animation, as well as fixing a whole buinch of bugs with their Enhanced Edition. They’re doing something similar with The Witcher 2, although this time the changes are more substantial, with new features and content. The big features are listed below, but include a load of entirely new locations and characters, extended the game significantly. GoG reports that anyone who purchases the game before the release of the Enhanced Edition (17th April) will get the upgrade for free.

New major adventures set in new locations. These consist of an underground system of chambers beneath Loc Muine and a temperate coniferous forest in the Loc Muine mountains, and a secret cave passage. These new adventures will add several hours of story-based gameplay to the game.

New major characters to the Witcher story. One of them is Brigida Papebrock Dame. This noble woman comes from the Temerian family Papebrock and is a 30 year old lady-in-waiting of the Temerian court. The other characters are secret–for now!

All new animations and cut scenes, including a new, three and a half minute pre-rendered cinematic depicting the assassination of King Demavend of Aedirn. BAFTA Award winner and Academy Award nominee Tomasz Baginski brings this key historical event to life, setting the stage for the story told in The Witcher 2.

Intriguing! And just in time for another playthrough, I think.

True. The self-proclaimed boycotters are not cancelling their pre-orders.

The endless stream of tears you've generated is absolutely delicious. This is butthurt on a grand scale; there is more foaming at the mouth here at BSN than in a kennel during an outbreak of rabies. Enough bricks have been shat to rebuild the Colosseum twice over. A screenshot of BSN will make its way into every dictionary to support the words "entitlement", "spoiled", "ignorance", "oblivious" and let's not forget "stupid". Everywhere, trolls are taking notes and attempting to improving their game.

If every future BioWare game manages to kick up such a sh*tstorm, you can rest assured that I'll pre-order them on general principle. Waiting for a game has never been so much fun.

Nice trolling.
