No. Boycotts are stupid. They have never accomplished anything ever. I also don't mind paying a developer for their time and effort.

Yeah, I'm not gonna pay for ME3 either. This DLC scam is just too much to accept.

Pretty much this. Did anyone hear how well the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott went?

Unless it's something stupid and ineffectual like, "Boycott Sonic 4! Buy Sonic 1 instead!"

Its not being handed for free, you paid more money for the CE am I right?

So you are not just going to boycott the DLC but also the game as well...

So in other words... "Pre-order cancelled"

Why not say that then, although I bet post March 9th (maybe earlier) we'll still see a '3' under your avatar though.

I say we boycott the boycott...who's with me?

Everyone who still has their CE per-ordered is automatically signed up for my boycott. Looks like mine is winning.

No. Besides, I'm getting the Collector's Edition so I'll be getting my hands on "From Ashes" anyway.

Yeah, If someone says These damn DLCs are out of place and greedy, he should get banned.

Bioware want to get rid of old fans and milk the new ones.
I wonder if the sane minority which are thousands, plan to buy anything else from Bioware/EA after ME3.

I SUPPORT the boycott.

Frees up the bandwidth so my download of From Dust isn't as slow as the demo was.

It's not being handed to you for free. You're the one paying too much for the full game. We're the ones paying too much for the dumbed down version.

Everyone is paying too much.

I think a lot of this anger of this DLC is plain old jealously because of the fact that CE buyers like me have already bought it and the other DLC and we're getting more physical stuff than the people who didn't pre-order CE.

It's not free. You payed extra for the CE edition for it.
As dlc , from Ashesis $10.
The CE edition you have to pay an addition $20 to get it.
Out that $20, $10 is going to "from ashes"....
How is that free?

Err, the boycott of specific DLC is a much more difficult task than boycotting a game. That said, I agree with the principle of the thing here, Bioware really is taking the good will of fans for granted. But I have to finish my Shep's story, and that's it for me and Bioware games for the foreseeable future.

I wish the boycott luck, and hopefully it works and sends Bioware and EA a clear message.

Edit : Didn't the L4D2 boycott end with Valve pulling out all the stops? to convince them? Can't see EA bothering to do the same, although I can't see a boycott gaining enough momentum and media exposure in the 2 weeks before release.

Difference? Valve appears to care more about their consumer, EA, meh.

While on the subject.

A decent amount of players who pre-ordered the game (but plan on going elsewhere for the actual installation file, cause of Origin hate or w/e) but still purchased the game out of loyalty to Bioware.

How many of these people will simply decide that they can't justify paying for this anymore?
I know I would find it hard, were I one of these people. :innocent:

Bypassing Origin... That's an interesting idea. Wonder how illegal that is? (No sarcasm)

Don't see how you can justify not paying for the DLC though. You either buy it or boycot it, if you want to make a statement like this thread starter.

BTW. Calling for a boycott in this context is a pretty democratic thing to do and hardly inflamatory. I disagree with the thread starter, but I hardly think it deserves responses like this:

While agree with you in regards to this case, boycotts have historically been very effective.

Civil Rights movement...jus' sayin'
