Its included in my CE, so its pretty difficult to BOYCOTT something that is being handed to me for free.

It's not free. You payed extra for the CE edition for it.
As dlc , from Ashesis $10.
The CE edition you have to pay an addition $20 to get it.
Out that $20, $10 is going to "from ashes"....
How is that free?

Only non-CE orders have to pay the $10.

Unless of course you are implying that the value actually IS $10...if so, then why is everyone so upset? lol.

You're going to buy it anyway, stop being dumb about it.

If you really can't afford a cheap little DLC, you should be worried about more important things than ME3 day one DLC.

If you are going to boycott From Ashes then I suggest you just boycott Mass Effect 3 as well. Since purchasing Mass Effect still gives EA/Bioware your money.

No. Boycotts are stupid. They have never accomplished anything ever. I also don't mind paying a developer for their time and effort.

While agree with you in regards to this case, boycotts have historically been very effective.

Civil Rights movement...jus' sayin'

Yeah, boycotts for things that matter.

Boycott is a 'fail' act in current economy and politics ... It works if the situation is total crap!

I would be surprised if any efficient boycott was achieved. as of now, ME-fans are not organised or focused enough to make a difference. EA counts on this no doubt.

Its not being handed for free, you paid more money for the CE am I right?

Oh no...so you are saying im being given content in which ive agreed to pay them for? Damn...what in the hell was i thinking?

You agreed to pay blindly for unknown quality and now even assume you get something for free.

This threat will be banned in 3 2 1....

When Mass Effect 1 came out, they promised a lot of DLC but were unable to deliver and I seem to recall that being a complaint of 'Long Time Fans'. Now Bioware's turning out DLC a quick as can be...yet people still complain.

Fascinating.

They also did the one thing a boycott is about. Not purchasing the product. Something gamers always seem to fail to do.

Boycotts *CAN* work, but its very rare that they ever do.

First of all you need ALOT of people to be pissed off at someone or something. Right now, this appears that only about half of the BSN and other internet gaming forums are upset, so not enough people to actually make a boycott work here.

Secondly, people have to actually be WILLING to give up the thing in question. And since this is the internet and anonymity...im guessing the majority of people crying the loudest, will still end up purchasing the game/CE/DLC, etc.
And those that DO refrain from doing so will be a drop in the bucket compared to those who actually DO purchase the game and DLC.

This^^^^^

Why complain about a product you're obviously going to buy. Your purchase shows you don't really care too much about the issue.

Yep, i agreed to blindly purchase the ME3 CE without evne knowing full well what was in it. Did the same thing with the ME2 CE.

Although I do not agree with keeping someone as important as the squad mate in From Ashes out of the full game, it is apart of the CE for those who bought it. Kind of can't get mad at them for that, but there is another squad member that would be better suited for this DLC more so than an integral member of ME3.

No matter what they say, I believe this was just a money grab. Casey and company can give the standard "developed after x time and put into game later", but many of us can read between the lines.

I preordered the N7 Collector's Edition in December and I'm happy with this decision. I really can't understand these hate threads.

No. what part of this don't you people understand?.
This DLC was offered in the CE.
SE buyers are just paying for this extra content, which was originally only available in the CE.
Why are you entitled to this for free?

Honestly, I buy what they told us.

You might call me naive, but I (still) trust in Bioware (the first company whose games I finished...yeah, I suck at games :P).

I actually find it pretty amusing that something like this is more outraging than the likes of Origin.
I know, the DLC trend is troubling etc., but Spyware on PCs? (I know EA changed their EULA and all, but still. Shows what kind of society this is. Spyware? Ah, no problem. Got a console. But when it comes to money and games, oh yeah, much more important ;) ).

He or someone else does not grab the concept of a CE as no the DLC is technically not free for us, it is still included in the list of things we are already getting (don't care to list em, just the first and probably only CE I may ever get, unless another near or more compelling game series comes along).
