Perhaps we should stop the stolen copy speculation?
We don't know what happened, and there's no use breaking up the awesome that is Team Taco over it!

I haven't been keeping up on the event, so what's this whole "stolen" thing about?

Crazy speculation. Pay it no attention.

And Deal. I can get you some dounuts! Top Pot one's too! Almost as big as your face!

I see, thanks.

I think I might keep an eye on this, sounds pretty interesting. I live in Florida though, so no early copy for me.

Well if you check around page 92-93 you can see what unfolded.

Its going to be pretty windy tomorrow. Either they'll postpone it for a day or they better do a lot of test runs/change the location to further inland before launching it so close to the water.

I really hope that is the case, the wind predicted landing area was already in the ocean without much wind due to the jetstream but its supposed to be 20-30mph winds to the east and gusts up to 50. If they launch from the city then they need to postpone or move inland.

I've got to organize pictures and videos and such, but I have a nice collection of what we went through this evening.

Oh my gosh, guys. This afternoon was so surreal.

I had called my dad yesterday evening and we joked about tracking down the Las Vegas weather balloon, but when I discovered that it had actually drifted out into his neck of the woods it became a reality.

He doesn't even play the game. It's right up his alley, but I've never been able to get him to break away from World of Warcraft long enough to give it a chance. I'm really hoping that Mass Effect 3 will get him into the series, since it has the FPS and Team Co-op Multiplayer modes. :)

I'm really quite thankful for everyone's support for him, too. It's really touching. I only expected one copy of the game to be on the balloon and I never really expected to win anything, so for him to have actually walked away with a copy, a /space edition/, is so unbelievably amazing.

He called me from home to make sure that he hadn't spoiled the registration key by having signed up and agreed to the TOS on the masseffect.com/space website, too. It's so damn cute!

I've talked to my boyfriend and we're going to drive up to visit my dad tomorrow. I'm really excited to hold the copy of Mass Effect 3 Space Edition in my hot little fangirl fingers, but I'm way more excited that my dad may actually sit down and share the experience with me and my friends.

Also, I should note that my coworker xyigx stayed with me at the office for the entire duration of this adventure. I offered to give him my personal copy of ME3CE (which I paid off last week) for camping out on this thread and twitter, hammering the F5 key, to make sure that we didn't miss any information from Bioware. And that will be awesome, since his girlfriend is wrapping up her Dragon Age campaign and he is a monster on BF3.

Thanks so much, guys. Idek. Words fail.

You should've seen the atmosphere when the entire crowd voted to get your dad one of the copies without raffling, after all that he'd been through. It was incredibly warming to see dozens of gamers just come together.

Also, shared quite a few laughs with your dad. He couldn't stop telling us about the shenanigans that you got up to at Comic-Con with Bianca.

Oh, thank you for finding him!  His tone and attitude was completely rejuvinated after he met up with you!  I'm so glad you won a copy, too.  Congrats!

(PS3?  Wink, wink, nudge, nudge?)

Going to one of my friends in our group, like I said. Just gonna be patiently waiting out the next few days until I can stroll into Gamestop and pick up my N7 Edition for the PC. This evening has just made me even more stoked for the release!

Fellow Jokerite, I has a jelly!

I didn't have such luck, because they raffled off what was left with the large group got there, but man, it was crazy.

Blog post in the morning. Now? Sleeeeeep...

Guys: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item416255dfdf

But it's UK. Which is very strange. But the number of "early" copies is pretty damning. Not sure what to think about this one.

Oh by the way guys, from what I gained from the balloon guys when we talked for awhile, the balloons were supposed to go up as 3 Xbox, 1 PS3 for each one of the Las Vegas balloons for whatever reason. They didn't know why, and seemed puzzled that each SFO balloon got 5 Xbox, 5 PS3. They told me that the 8 copies that they received to launch were all that they received.

It was kind of a charlie foxtrot, too...but in a different way. I'll be blogging about it tomorrow guys, don't worry. :D

Melissa, the group unanimously agreed to give your dad that copy, he deserved it. I hope you enjoy it! I can't wait to hear what you think! (No major spoilers, of course. XD)

They told us when we first got there (Toyota MR2 from Prescott, AZ) that two other people had come just before us, and that they got to walk away with the game. So they got the "first come, first served" treatment. We were at the head of the pack when the convoy arrived at Castle Rock.

We'll have to see what happens for the NY one. I still think it's going to go in the ocean.

The guys who found the game and set up the weather balloon (who actually don't work for BioWare and did all of this for free for a trip to Alaska) said they're actually going to try and launch the balloon west of the city, so it actually lands in the city... but it's a whole other team organizing the New York effort.

I'd like to point out that I am on some adrenaline rush from this... and I wasn't even there!!

I'm glad everyone made it home! I got really concerned there that someone was lost in the desert while I was out to dinner with my roommate. I was working the phone like mad to make sure Sky got there, and she did!!

Chilling in this thread was ridiculously fun, and I'm kinda sad I don't have anybody to guide on the quest for the NYC balloon.

PS: any word on NRMDY or SHEPRD? I tried asking @masseffect about them, and I kinda wanna know if IGN got them. Them professional game reporters and there taco's...

Ah, alright. Must've missed that part then.

I loved (but felt so sorry for!) the tall guy's reaction as the convoy continued pulling in. It went straight from  to .

Kinda feel a bit rickrolled because those first two got to walk away with one, and we were JUST about to when the rest of the convoy showed up...but that's life. It sucks sometimes. There would have been blood if they hadn't have raffled them off...I do NOT envy Travis and Dillon (I think that's the other guy's name...I definitely remember the Tall one was Travis), they were having to make some huge judgment calls on that one. His reaction was pretty much EXACTLY like that, too. Lol.

Thank you everyone here at the BSF for your patronage!

Hope Team Vegas, Team Arizona, and all the other teams put on a good show for you!

I know I sure did have a good time out there, got to meet some cool people, run around in a desert, and trespass all over multiple private properties!

Congrats again to all the winners, especially Melissa's dad and Colorado man-child hybrid!

TEAM VEGAS RULES!

(Edit: I also apparently love exclaming. Sorry adreneline hasn't stopped pumping through my veins yet.)
