how far did it go the other times and how long as it in the air

SF was 2 hours...about 70 miles-ish each.

Vegas was a bit longer, and just over 100 miles.

Nope, still not safe. They better go further North.

The predictor site someone posted, using the Long/Lat of Allentown PA (40.6083333,-75.4905556), using the 6 hour predictive model for weather patterns, shows the balloon landing just of the coast of Noank in CT. Funny thing is, it looks like it's JUST off the shore from Abbot's Lobster in the Rough (BEST LOBSTER EVER..but not open right now).

I suggest Allentown BW, if the ballon does wind up in the NY metro area the drive between the two is easy and should only take a 2 hours tops maybe less based on traffic. Me and the family go to Allentown often for vacation so I'm familiar with the drive.

Well sonova crap. I live on the SOUTH shore of Long Island. This means LESS chance the balloon lands anywhere near me.

Well so much for that dream.

It's not "in the air" time...it's using the weather patterns over the next 6 hours....rather than the ones 12 hours or 24 hours (etc) from now.

Predicted "in the air" time was about 2 hours and 19 minutes.  Which is right in line with what we've seen for the other launches.

I think with the speed it will be traveling at this will be very unpredictable.

Actually, Allentown is fairly close to where I live... well, if you can say 49 minutes as close, perhaps there's some merit in taking a quick drive...

I actually agree...I think predicting it will travel 170 miles from launch seems a little optimistic, if nothing else.

But that's what the site says....someone asked to have it filled out and to see the results.  So I did. :)

Hmmm, or I could wait here for the time being. Never hurts, right?

Eh, then again, waiting another week won't really kill me.

But it is VERY windy today. This thing might go WAY beyond 100 miles. Just hoping it reaches at least Nassau county in Long Island

I think I used a slightly different starting position near Allentown.  I have it bursting over Long Island and crashing into the water near Westerly CT! As sad as I am to say this, but if they want a successful NY launch, they need to head much further north and launch it into CT...

You'd have to shoot it on acent or decent...because you're not likely hitting it after it raises above 200-300 feet (60 to 80 yards) unless you've got one heck of a high powered air rifle.
