Step 1) Go to the APRS website: http://aprs.fi/
Step 2) Type "San Francisco" into the Address, city or Locator field on the right and hit search.
Step 3) Look for a callsign that looks Mass Effect related, lol.

Thanks...trying to figure out how to find them for the NYC launches Sat morning.

Well I'm expecting the London one to land somewhere in East Anglia due to our predominantly south westerly winds...

there must be some sort of way to control the balloons, they seem to be avoiding water easily.

Not sure...but weather patterns, convection, and physics would lead to a pretty predictable path...no control necessary.

The UK one better not launch at 7am or 9am. I'm waaaay too busy till 3:10, which I'll then drive like crazy to the location if it's still there.

How many balloons do they launch from each location?

Same altitude (generally) at each point. Close to same speed. Same basic path...

Pfft.  If the balloon really landed on the side of a mountain, you'd just get halfway up in the Mako and it would spontaneously flip over on its back and slide back down.

Too bad I don't live in CA, I'd much rather climb a mountain to grab one of these. I''ll be needing a boat to go after the NYC copies according to wind forecast for this Saturday.

but then a light breeze or a rabbit would tap you and it would be mission failure

Its fast but its a heavy risk!  If a pebble fell off the top it would probably blow the thing up :innocent:

They already get the game early. No need for them to hog another copy for themselves.
