They were apparently running through the woods when SHEPRD landed last night. That's the last twitter post I saw anyway.

Uh...the tree is 300 feet high, and it's stuck some 250 feet up. That'd have to be a really big stick.

I think there are bears so I hope they don't get eaten.

If one reads the rules for the Space Edition and I have now at least 4 times, I see that once again Canada did not even make it on the list as a participant.
Truly makes one want to boycott Bioware and all its affiliates due to lack of forethought. Guess Bioware did not think of the fan base here in Canada or think of Canada at all. IMHO . . .

Well, it's not too dark.Only about 6:30 PM PST.
Wish they would have launched a few copies in Canada. That doesn't seem fair at all.

Poor ME3...all alone. In the dark. With no one to love it and stick it in their consoles to play.

Not sure if serious.
There are these things called 'coats'. Plus most of the big cities are located near-ish the US border. It's not like there are polar bears walking around outside Vancouver.
I didn't mean they should launch them now, since it's already very, very dark up here.

I'm completely confused, you have to sign up in order to obtain a copy of a game in which your locating in possibly the middle of knowhere, how do you police that? don't people just take the copy if they find a balloon? or is it in a secure case?
If you sign up, you obtain access to a password you have to give to the devs upon retrieval. This password hasn't been set up yet, because of the crazyness, but they'll be working on it tonight.
This is probably just some extra security thing. It is an official contest, after all.
Edit: I'm also under the impression they're locked up until someone can open it up for you upon legal transfer of the prize.

Most major Canadian cities are near the US border...perhaps the didn't want to risk it wandering over the border and having to deal with the legal implications.
Just a thought.

nope they showed what there in i think the games are just the cases and who ever presents the cases get the game adn stuff and swag that would make sense since if you loose the game case in a tree or on a side of a cliff top so you really dont loose to much money in the running, i would think that theyre smarter then that to allow 2 week till a game comes out..
but then again there is 5 xbox and 5ps3 in the cases so if there disposable cases and what not the only thing that would coast would be the gps and the weatherballon.

That's true.
(Although it seems this stunt has legal implications (potential air traffic problems, unsuspecting pedestrians, etc) written all over it)
Just seems weird, Bioware being Canadian and all. Plus the capital of Earth in the ME verse (and the only bit of Earth we've seen so far) is a fusion of Vancouver and Seattle.
