For those that were apart of today's festivities did you by chance run into someone named "Nick" I was parked waiting for SHEPRD all afternoon. I went up to any car that was parked on the side of the road asking if they were there for Mass effect space.
I first drove onto a dirt road that would have gotten me close when I was asked to leave. I didn't know it was private property at the time. I also asked two other ranches (K&S and PIE) for access but they weren't gonna have it.
What a messed up day, and the drive back on 17 was murderous.
I hope they do the right thing for those of us that were there today. I know there were more people looking for NRMDY since it was first. I knew better and when I saw that the second balloon was taking a similar trajectory I parked the car on highway 1 and waited till it stoped moving.

Yeah its not gonna happen unless someone gets up the never to steal it from the property. Otherwise EA is just gonna have to wait till tomorrow morning and get the police involved. Kind of sad actually cause I was looking forward to giving it to my sweetheart. Things we do for the love of Mass Effect
That's so Sweet!
She's lucky to have someone like you!

the sad part in this is that thanks to the first flight today, anyone can use the information that was recorded to accuratly predict where the next one will land and so on and so forth. all you need to know is distance the ballons traveled, there hight, and time. then using good old math you can figure out where they should come down at roughly with in 20 to 30 feet give or take a little. shame because from my prediction none of those copys would even come close to where I'm at. dam shame to cause I got screwed out of a N7 edition.
The change of wind at different heights may screw with their calculations.

BTW, is it just me, or do people that live in the country all happen to be crazy people?

The biggest trick will be finding out in what direction...the prevailing winds will determine the direction of travel. Also, different atmospheric conditions make it a far less simple calculation than just d = rt.

Curious, what is the difference in colors when it comes to the space edition? One is blue and one is red, is one PS3 and one Xbox? Or....
If you find either balloon, you have the choice of either the PS3 or Xbox edition.

The PC version has more security concerns than the console versions, that's why they aren't giving them out. I imagine they'll let us know if and when the passwords become important.

They know who exactly receives the copy, so they'll be able to quickly narrow down the suspects if copies of the game are streamed or torrented.CDRSkyShepard wrote...

True, doesn't change the fact the risk is much higher with a PC copy. I'm sure you have to sign some kind of non-disclosure agreement if you get a copy...but that's not a guarantee against a leak. And once it's out, it's out...they can take action against the source of the leak all they want, but it'll be like letting the cat out of the bag.
Not that it couldn't happen with console versions, it's just a lot harder.

The PS3 version may pose some difficulty, but the 360 version is just as easy as the PC version.
