Soo good morning ESTers anyone get one yet or is it time to admit those two are inaccessible and move on?
They are recovering the San Fran ones as we speak, actually, and the rest of Team Vegas should be waking up soon.

Bioware. They're going to hand them out to people once they obtain them. I imagine IGN will get a copy, because they camped out there, and well, they're IGN. Better reviews for the game, I guess.

You can't be serious. It would take us forever to get there. That's like, twice the distance of the San Fran launches.
Well, I'm just judging this based on that current wind conditions in the Las Vegas area are looking at about 3 times or so what they were in San Fran at launch time yesterday. Currently wind speed stays constant from the Las Vegas flatlands up till the California mountain range there, then the wind direction is looking at fluctuating...which I would say is right around that area I said. However, I'm not a meteorologist, I'm just some guy who looked up current weather, wind speed and direction and compared it to how the San Fran launch went. This is all just my guesswork.

We can discuss it in the group. Looks like we all need a ride.

No way to know for sure until it gets up in the air, I suppose.
Thanks for investigating, though!

They haven't said where yet, just that they are picking a new location due to changes in wind patterns. They are worried about the balloons flying over the airport.
I don't know how they're avoiding McCarran's airspace if they're launching anywhere near the city, and they need FAA authorization to launch into class Bravo airspace...which I assume is a clearance they thought about ahead of time, but maybe not.

The team is currently at a Starbucks at the Luxor but they're still planning the new location.
Seriously, they should just hand them out. This is going to turn into a nightmare.

It never leaves the atmosphere so it never had to reenter. It techinically never enters 'space' at all.

So, wait, both SHEPRD and NRMNDY landed somewhere inaccessible? I lost track 20 pages ago.
Yeah, ones in a tree, the other is on private property...rumor has put them in a 300 ft redwood tree, on the side of a cliff, and on private property.
In other words, a nice charlie foxtrot. Lol.

Yup.
NRMNDY was snagged up on a pretty sheer cliff (you'd need climbing gear to get at it from the bottom...or a LONG rope to get at it from the top) face.
SHEPRD was snagged up in the top of a VERY tall tree. Saw a report on twitter that a guy tried to climb up and get it...and almost took a header about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up to it.
I think NRMNDY was also on private property...I know ONE of them was. I think that was the one.
Basically, unless you were an experienced/avid climber or an Axe man (and could find and "convince" the property owner to grant you access, potentially)....they were inaccessible.
