So, wait, both SHEPRD and NRMNDY landed somewhere inaccessible? I lost track 20 pages ago.

Indeed, one got stuck in a tree, one got stuck on the side of a cliff.

I hope they burn up coming back in the atmosphere.

It never leaves the atmosphere so it never had to reenter. It techinically never enters 'space' at all.

Balloons are capable of going pretty dang high, but none of these are breaching the outer stratosphere.

If only you'd said "capable of GETTING pretty dang high"....I could have made the ubiquitous blunt joke and we could have all had a laugh while passing the time.

Did Nrmndy's position "move"?  I thought it was further inland when it "landed"?

Hahahaha....

See what I didn't do there?

I dunno, I'd consider it a win just because you brought it up. XD

Me and my buddy are Team Northern Arizona, so we'll have to see what happens when they actually launch the thing... XD

Map is pointing to the middle of the ocean...because they don't have a launch spot picked out (so no filter running). STILL now word on the LV location...probably waiting for some eggheads to finish computations so they don't violate someone's airspace (or get stuck on the face of the freaking LUXOR Sphinx)

I'd do neither.  I'd walk into the hotel and offer the concierge a hundy to have one of their maintenance guys retrieve it for me.

Which, incidentally, is also what I would have done yesterday to gain access to one of those ranches that blocked access from (I think) the NRMNDY....though I'd bet it would be a LOT more effective in Vegas. :)

The ol' "slip a 20 in between your credit card and business card" would probably do the trick. ;D

Priestly tweeted this not too long ago:

Edit: Oh for Pete's sake... Chris said they were still going to launch at the Luxor, another tweet went up just a minute ago about how they're still setting up.

Last update was they were at the Luxor Starbucks trying to figure out a new launch spot.  Still no furhter updates.

Any idea what direction the lower level winds are blowing?  Looks like north/northeast on the 'net...about right?

They need to specify exactly where this parking lot is, I'm wandering aimlessly around Luxor at the moment, lol.
