Also, call sign is CERBER

Well with a call sign like that, what could POSSIBLY go wrong!?

My iPhone corrects CERBER to Cebrerus.... I think TIM owns Apple

If the balloon is Cerberus themed it would be much easier to find with all the flashy logos.  It should also play Cerberus's theme song, but there isn't one as far as I know so I guess the elevator music will have to do.

For those doing NY launch, I'm going to wait by one of the Long Island bridges to see if it goes over LI or heads towards CT/Upstate NY. Anyone doing something similar?

I think it's a safe bet it is headed to Long Island.  I saw a weather report earlier today suggesting that Saturday is going to have HUGE wind gusts, so I am really hoping it doesn't end up dozens of miles off shore.

I'll be waiting at the Westbury Mall for the launch, that way I can get off of Long Island fast if it takes an unexpected course. Anyone want to get a Team NYC together to find this thing?

I'm in Brentwood, which is in Long Island about 50 miles due east from Manhattan. If it comes this way I'll go after it.

Well that's certainly in line with Cerberus' track record as a top secret organisation. Approved!

Also - take note that the Paris launch won't be happening. There are too many Reapers in the sky and the balloon will just pop on one of their pointy leg things. (we couldn't get it through Parisian regulations in time because we brought a balloon to a jumbo jet fight when it comes to legalities)

That is outrageous!  Why is there no angry smiley?  Well, in that case, could you organize something else?  I mean, you were planning on giving things out, so you should still try to find a way to give them out.  Maybe a  treasure hunt?

That is the most depressing news I've heard.  Can I buy it from you guys then?  I'll come to your Parisian office if I have to.  You can't just outright cancel it.  Ugh....

Wait! WHAT??? I have to agree! This is totally outrageous! Parisians want something in replacement. Like ReveurIngenu said, something like a treasure hunt (even with only promotional items) will do.

And why not make the launch in the suburb in the first place, since flying over Paris isn’t permitted?

I'm going to be waiting near the RFK or Whitestone bridges.  We'll have to wait to see where they launch it.  Have they annoucned EXACTLY where that's happening?

Nope, but in today's video for Vegas they said they released a bunch of test balloons and crunched some numbers. Apparently their original launching location would have had it falling into the grand canyon, so they moved the launch location.

Which means its likely they're going to move the launch location northbound so it hits Connecticut! Much less likely for it to fall into the ocean than Long Island.

I'm planning on trying for it! (I live in Bromley and the guess work shows it's going South straight over me)
As far as a team forming I'm not sure yet, it'll probably develop over the weekend.

:)

The thing is the weather forecast said the wind direction will be easterly in the morning so why is the balloon predicted to go south?

Current forecasts sadly puts the ballon heading east (from where I don't know) so it will be away from both you and me (Watford) but once the NY ballons are up team london is a go!

I don't see how Bio/EA get in trouble short of the balloon directly impacting something, and then I assume all the legalities and insurance have been paid for such too. But yeah, they can't really be held accountable for people's insanity/incompetence I think! :D

Still, I can see becoming big news and really bad PR for the two companies is something bad happens.

Nope, Vegas is about to launch, and they're still trying to retrieve it from a tree in SF ^_^

It was from a site someone linked earlier in the forums when they were predicting it. It's obviously not for definate or anything, don't take my word for it, haha. Like I said, 'guess work'. Posted Image

Whatever way the wind blows, I'm trying for it anyway, so I don't mind really, haha.

Watching the Vid logs on Twitter. Looking at the group of people that showed to the launch and I might have a good shot lol. I'm going to wait a bit, try and get a sense of how far this thing is going to go before making a decision.
