A trek across the desert for a copy actually sounds pretty awesome. Much cooler than following it through small towns and countryside, which is what I'm sure will happen here in the UK. I just hope it doesn't end up in the English channel, or somebody will be getting a very damp copy of the game.

If it travels as far as the LV balloon did it will end up in the Netherlands, France or Belgium.

Or the ocean, which is probably a lot more liekly. The country is pretty much an island after all. I'd be pretty annoyed if it dosent even land in the UK though... unless the Paris or Berlin ones happen to drift over this way :P

I seriously don't know how the NY balloon won't end up in the ocean tomorrow with the way the winds are.

Either that or a river.

Seriously.  They have to release the balloon in western Pennsylvania in order to make it reach NYC.

I hope every ME fan in the NYC area has their boats ready!

"yes. The Space Edition launch has been scrub in Paris due to unexpected

Yeah you know there is the western wind in Europe, but according to the cyclones and anticyclones everything can be at odds, especially in Germany. There is no predictable wind direction like at the equator, it can be different at any time, but weather forecast just predicts it right.

At least release it a little farther inland. It's right next to the ocean for heaven's sake.

Most people are headed, or gathered at the Outpost gas station right now, waiting for more news from team Hammerhead. Either they can meet the gathering there, or keep the mysterious "rest stop" thing going

The balloon from the NYC area should be getting onto the sea, but it's the same as in Europe, you can't really say which wind direction will occur at this time. Just have to wait for the guys from the Weather Channel to do their job.

I've been following this thread for most of today.

This whole affair is terribly amusing/interesting. I think I need to pop some more popcorn for the conclusion of this (mis?)adventure.

BTW, my father deserves a hug, you guys.

He had two Golden Valley residents greet him with a shotgun for driving around near their property. He actually stopped and said "HI!" so that no one else would have to deal with them.

HUGS FOR THE OLD MAN IN THE DUNE BUGGY. HE ALSO ACCEPTS STEAK.

Ok, I got a voicemail from the guys and it sounds like they were out in the middle of nowhere. They said it would be an hour before they will get to the rest stop. So if you're waiting you still probably have another 30 minutes or so to go before they arrive.
