Ok so my 1st playthrough I was a rogue

I will admit I hardly knew what I was doing and as a result my rogue turned out inferior to what they could have been and so did my party , I had to beat the last boss and most other bosses on casual on that save lol

With that said I want to make my next save a rogue again and go for a better rogue this time

Theres 25 lvls and I think exactly 5 instances of getting talents for free (3 Books & at the end of redcliffe & landsmeet quests) (Correct me if I'm wrong)

1.What talents do you feel are absolutley nessecary?

2.What specialization combo do you think is best? (I think Assassin/Hunter tbh)

3.Should I mess with archery at all and get arrow of slaying , or no?

4.If I get Lethality will it effect dmg from daggers at all? If dexs mod is broken and therefore you cannot make daggers any stronger than their base dmg , should I then just use 2 swords once I get master dual weild?

5.My 1st rogue skipped on mastering stealth , what are the real uses and advantages of mastering stealth?

Coup de grace is pretty good with crowd control mages stunning everything.

Feign death is crap, don't waste the skill. Combat Stealth does the same thing and has a few more uses.

For stealth...basically if something is attacking your rogue and you want it to stop killing you, hit combat stealth and the enemy will leave you alone. It also grants an automatic backstab when you attack while in stealth.

Evasion is good and bad.

Good:

20% of attacks miss.

Bad:

Dodging the attacks causes your character to "hiccup" (the animation of dodging the attack), which interrupts your action. I've had a rogue "evasion locked" unable to do anything due to the dodge animation for 10 seconds solid before.

Arrow of Slaying will hit for 200+ damage, which is basically an instakill, with or without master archery. Master archery only adds an attack bonus. If you think its worth it get it, if not it won't make or break a build.

Ok

Well since I re-realized specializations takes up 8 talents I think I will have to forget about arrow of slaying and maybe make a seperate archer rogue later , maybe IF they patch the dex thing

So nobody has a case against Assassin/Hunter or in favor of Bard and/or Duelist then?

I figure when I make an archer character I'll do hunter/bard because well , assassin would be mostly useless to a ranged weapon only rogue

Unless you plan on soloing the game ranger is crap, 2nd worst class in the game next to shape shifter. If you just want the joy of summoning a bear then go for it, but its not good in terms of making a powerful character. The pets are pretty weak and have shoddy AI. If you want to be really sick in melee go for duelist/assassin, if you want to help out your party with sweet buffs/enemy debuffs go for bard/assassin

Can a bard do buff songs at the same time as the debuff songs?

Edit : Ok so looking at Bard Vs. Duelist abilities

Looks like Duelist is just attack & def buffs + auto crit mode buff

Bard however is basically the same things but instead EVERYONE gets the buffs

I don't think being a ranger sucks though because my 1st rogue was one and I found the pets quite useful but I suppose I am making this 2nd rogue so why not make them something different

How long does the duelist auto crit thing work? Does it stack w/ backstabs being considered crits and therefore make even higher crits?
I think Assassin/Bard sounds better than Assassin/Duelist

go daggers + lethaly coup de grace. high stealth if u want to play pure back stab rogue.

go swords/axe + combat abilities + dualist for sick straight forward dualist dps.

(whatever build u get.. momentum rocks.. insane attack speed.. especially handy on backstabs aswell)

Whatever you decide, get momentum, yes, and at least three points in stealth. If you want to open chests and stuff, get lethality and pump cunning after 36 dexterity, otherwise I guess strength.
