I'm starting over as a full Primal Mage. I'll be running with Alastair, Leliana & Wynne. I grabbed the NPC respec mod so Lel will be a full melee DPS and Wynne will full on Spirit Healer/Creation.
I know I should get CoC as soon as possible, (and I'm guessing stone fist) but after those two what should my priorities be?

The graphic using Fireball is so satisfying - one of my favorite spells.

fire does the most damage and shock does damage to hp and mp. i would say sense you have the respec pick whatever spells you need and then respec to full primal since the primal line offers cc and dps. just get some heals along the way. you really can't mess up making a character with that mod.

aside from the lightning tree,(witch has no CC at all) i'd say go for it, just get the other essentials along the way as said above.
also got a question, what spec are u going? AW BM?

Ahh alright, so I can fill out the lightning tree last, then.
Not sure about my spec, def. not AW though so I guess BM/SH...

Although the lightning spells don't exactly overwhelm enemies with physical damage they do damage both the health and the Mana/stamina of their victims, making them quite useful again enemies/bosses that use a lot of abilities or spells.

if i'm going to be a BM/SH i would go with earth first and boost up your magic so you can get earthquake early since it's the least expensive tree and provides impressive crowd control and armor. And you can start shattering foes once you get Morrigen. Then I'de take fire for the damage and flame weapons. Work on willpower to get a mana ocean instead of just a pool. Have Morrigan go down mind blast (you got CoC right?) so you can have more cc and telekenitic weapons that's helpful against bosses especially with her weakness hex andd your flame weapons. Fireball is another good crowd controller but it gives you a lot of aggro and i really only use it if I know I'll take a beating or if I'm going to follow it up with a nuke. (earthquake is also perfect for this)
By now your probably level 7-9. I found that with enough willpower I could cast all my nukes and cc spells switch to blood magic for any more cc and any other spells and watch my party clean up the rest

I suggest u get mind blast on all your mages, since its just a real lifesaver when combined with CoC
(mind blast them, run out of the group and freeze them)
Personally, the trees i would go first is Fire, then ice, maybe earth(not really a fan of that tree)
and then lightning i guess. ofc picking up the heal spell along the way and any single target spells for boos fights, and maybe the hex spells to increase the damage u do.

If you're planning on using CoC to its full potential, shock and stonefist both compliment it well, whereas the fire spells all end the CoC paralyze effect prematurely.
