This just started today.  Using my Turian Sentinel equipped with the Mattock, the recoil is horrendous and it pulls the weapon down!  I always use the scope and have the stability damper V equipped.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I think it's a bug with how recoil is calculated. The turian already has weapon stabilization and if that alongside the Stability Damper combined is more than 100% stability it goes into "negative" recoil and starts going down instead of up. The best way to get rid of it would probably be to get rid of the Stability Damper unfortunately.

What does a Stability Damper on a Mattock even do? The gun is single-shot, it barely recoils as is.

The stability dampener basically acts as an upgrade to accuracy imo.  It tightens the grouping of bullets by reducing recoil of shots.  Without a dampener the mattoc appears to group somewhere around 7-8" circle of bullets.  With 70% dampener it's bullet over bullet basically.

A scope appears to basically zoom in on the target making for easier headshots etc even though it says it increases accuracy which it does by making targets easier to hit, but not by actually increasing the accuracy of the gun.  I could be wrong on this.

On my human soldier with 70% stability dampener on a rank 3 mattock the gun literally fires bullet on top of bullet accuracy even when squeezing the trigger like mad.

Without the dampener the mattock has recoil on good bullet grouping, but not pinpoint like with a dampener equipped.

Least that's what I've noticed.

I'm pretty sure the scope is an actual accuracy boost. My Turian Sentinel uses the Avenger, I notice a huge difference in bullet spread between scoped and from the hip firing.

I've also noticed the downward recoil on my Avenger, though at the time I thought I was jsut imagining things.

I guess it because the game does this recoil=baserecoil*(1-recoil reduction). As such with the Turian inbuilt -recoil and the stability dampener the 1-recoil reduction is less than zero = gun recoils down.
Recommended fix remove stabiliser, until it gets patched.
