One Reaper Dreadnought, regular size, touches down on Earth. It incinerates cities within it's range, corrupts the minds and huskifies civilians. We are dealing with a cyber-zombie apocalypse originating from an invincible Dreadnought. This Dreadnought can be destroyed by overloading it's core, but that would require fighting through it, and that's suicidal.
How would you survive?

I would personally gather survivors and arm them with my impressive array of firearms. We would avoid the Reaper and fight off the husk hordes and try to survive. If possible, with proper support from what's left of the world's military, I'd organize a suicidal assault on the Reaper. While it blasts choppers out of the air, survivors will hopefully touchdown on the Reaper. We would fight our way through the husk infested ship quickly to avoid indoctination. Survivors would destroy the core, hopefully overloading the ship.

I'd defeat it like Sovereign.

I'd bring a McGuffin that it needs to access, but can't unless it possesses a toaster. Then I'd shoot the toaster.

We haven't really had any convention warfare since WWII (not saying we should) so many people don't even comprehend the sheer firepower our present day military has (USA). Aircraft carries for example have entire systems dedicated to solely blasting rockets and other projectiles out of the sky that come towards the ship and are very effective in tests.

My point is I honestly believe we would decimate one reaper in a matter of hours but since we aren't all rocking kinetic barriers the reaper would do some serious damage before we could kill him.

It would shoot it out of the air. Hell, it's barriers would probably brush it off.

We would all die. Period.
Reapers are OP by ME standards, and our weaponry is nowhere near powerful enough.

Although, I suppose we could try to train ICBMs on it, but I am not sure how quickly it could flee, or the ramifications on our planet, especially if we miss.

I think you'd have to use about 3400 nukes on it to kill it. Don't the dreadnaught main cannons hit with more force than nukes? And those are useless against reapers unless there's a whole fleet of them.

I was just gonna mention this, people underestimate the power of nuclear weapons, even compared to fancy-pants future weapons. It's just that they're so unwieldy. But one reaper wouldn't stand a chance against the stockpile of even one major nation

The derelict reaper was killed by a dreadnought weapon, but those require insane distance to use, like, across interplanetary distances. There were no dreadnoughts used against sovereign, if that's what you're remembering. Nukes are powerful

From one? Maybe. But we'd have a chance.

How would I survive? By not being where all the dying is taking place.
Simples!

In our current state, I doubt the people of Earth would even unite to defeat it.

Reapers are fast though. Watch that sucker fly off from Eden Prime for example.

Well, ICBMs as I said come to mind, but if we hit it with a dozen of those, the fall-out would be immense. If not the reaper, the fallout of ICBMs would kill us ;)

-This. And Im pretty sure that even sustained ICBM bombardments would be either defeated or blown out of the sky.

However I dont see the reason why any intelligent race would sack earth. There are plenty of resources in space and whilst we are a curiositum, we would be infinitely backward for any race that had mastered FTL travelling. Hell I even find it a stretch to believe that we would have been any force to be reconed with let alone beat the crap out of the turians in the ME setting.

I will hit with nuclear warheads. Remember that the reapers don't even have that firepower, and if we
keep hitting it with that we will bring it down.

I'd give it a computer virus, and then destroy it alongside Will Smith.

By lore, kinetic barriers only block incoming projectiles of great speeds. Therefore, to destroy the reaper all it would require is that someone get close enough to plant a Nuclear bomb of sufficent strength.

That's what I'm saying.

I'm an intelligent young slacker with technical skills. I have "main character" written all over me.
