Not only that, but your graphics card will support HDMI, if I'm not mistaken.

what difference does that make?

HDMI is digital, while VGA is analog. Thus crisper image.

There are other things I'm sure, but I don't know all of them (i suppose you could look it up). I just know it's better.

anyway, I'm shopping around trying to find a better GPU now, which of these would be better? (and if you know a better one I can get for $100 feel free to say)

I would still suggest getting a 6850. They're about $150 right now, which can usually be knocked down a bit more, and I would expect that once Nvidia releases their new cards they'll drop to that $100 price point the cards you're looking at are at now.

I'm probably not going to get either, this is just a "if I were to buy this today" scenario, trying to learn how to shop for these, more than anything else.

clearly the 6750.

And those are pretty good prices.

And I agree with Baron. Though it all depends on when you want to build this. You can wait for all eternity for cheaper prices, but eventually you have to buy.

I still don't like that low HD...but I suppose there's nothing really wrong with it. Other than that, fine.

320 GB: real 290 GB
50 GB for Windows and its components for a year
50 GB for pictures, movies and music
190 GB for Games ...

Lets check some of my games:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: 13 GB
GTA 4: 15 GB
L.A.Noire: 19 GB
Mass Effect 2: 20 GB
Star Wars The Force Unleashed: 25 GB

Insufficient. Unless you want to play older games which averagely are 1 - 5 GB.

10,000 RPM minimum. I'll never go back to 7,200 RPM like some sort of peasant.

btw, if I buy a bare hard drive, what am I going to need to get it running?

Some sort of sacrifice to the dark gods. I'm sure you know the deal.

Besides for that, these days just make sure you have an extra SATA cable and a free SATA power cable. The latter shouldn't be a problem unless your computer is already loaded with HDDs and CD/DVD drives.

But I can never remember this stuff until I'm actually putting it together so don't take my word.

Well darn, I'll either have to go with the not bare version, or think of someone who I particularly dislike then.

SATA cables are those small red ones! They can be easily found, if you know the right place to buy.

But 1TB 7200RPM > 320GB 10000RPM

But Bo has another computer, he isn't putting all his music and movies on here.

And besides, games are getting smaller bizarrely. Skyrim is smaller than Oblivion, and DAII is a whooole lot smaller than DA:O.

He should be good with 500GB.

And the SATA cables have a flat shape with this outline:

I'm just going to run Starcraft II, Diablo III and a few classics on it for now, my xbox can handle the rest.

I'm running two Western Digital 300GB 10,000 RPM drives. Only problem is that Steam places everything (and I have some large games on Steam) to the C drive. Would Steam games still work if I moved them to my E drive then set-up a directory junction?

Motherboards will usually come with a few SATA cables. The one I bought came with two 6gb/s cables (unfortunately the 6gb/s ports are very poorly placed and I can't use them, but this mobo was never more than a stopgap anyways).

You can't just directly copy and paste them, but google "SteamTool". It's a program that lets you transfer them to another directory.
