I was wondering what is the difference between barrier and a shield? Do they have any weakness differences or is it just a design thing for biotics.
Thank you in advance I guess...
The difference?

I...think...a barrier IS a shield. Like Tech dudes have shields, and Biotics have barriers!
EDIT: Don't listen to me. I'm just an old fool. And I've never played as a techy. Sorry.

I think the only difference is that Warp is effective against barriers while Overload is good against shields.

Some powers are effective against barriers, while some are effective against shields. I believe both are supposed to be small 'mass effect fields' surrounding your armor to prevent damage and harm, but the exact specifics elude me.
EDIT:
Shields are produced by small generators in armor (and such are suseptable to tech based abilities like Overload), while Barriers are produced by the individual's biotic powers (and are such suspectable to biotic based abilities like Warp)
In the game (at least, in the demo), I don't believe any Cerberus unit has either Overload or Warp, so I think that functionally they are the exact same (but only in the demo, there may be distinctions when the full games comes out)
