It was being worked on after ME3 went into certification, and I believe it was created by a separate team that didn't have anything to do with the development of the main game. But I could be wrong....

A lot of other game developers do the same thing anyways. To some it's a big deal, to others not so much.

No one believes that. Which makes the whole thing even more retarded, because not only do they not have any proof that this content could've been included in the game, they think any info suggesting that is lies. This allows them to create whatever scenario best suits their crusade.

And for the record, I know about the files in the demo. Again, it was the same sh*t with Kasumi.  A few files does not a finished product make.

nope won't affect sales i think, not even much of a big deal really, this dlc is just for the one's who didn't buy the CE ... i think the only problem here is the people want it for free just like the one's who shelled out more $ for the CE ... which i think is wrong

I have sympathy for Origin worries, but I see this issue as a nothing burger.

The game will no doubt sell well, but I doubt it will meet whatever lofty expectations EA have for it.

Vast majority won't even be aware of it unless it specifically states its available for purchase in the game or inside the box.

I was waiting for someone to say this explicity.

The vast majority of the players probably care less than not at all

Nothing sales wise , because the people complaining will moan for now then turn around and buy it.Their are very few people who might actually follow through and not buy ME3 because of this or MP armors/weapons dlcs in figures/books/etc.

And that's exactly the kind of ignorance that allows them to keep pushing things like this.

Like most DLC and players who don't frequent forums on any games. They will learn about it while browsing online stores, PSN/XBL etc. This is nothing new and nothing wrong with how works, it will increase sales as their desire for the content might be high not just because of the character species but also because of the actual story content as part of the DLC.

So your right most will not be aware and most will not be upset about it unlike if was CE exclusive and never released as DLC for the rest of the fans which is not the case. If they did that then even I might voice concern over this issue, but they did not.

The people who moan will very possibly fold and buy the last entry in the trilogy they came to love. But they will remember this, remember DA2, the novel and the demo for a looong time...

You know, while I do find the whole thing to be rather stupid (Would've been better just in the default game) I can't say it's a big deal really; most people don't care for a reason.... it's ten dollars

-And then some of us dont give a crap about the 10 because we were getting the CE anyway, but think that sticking a prothean into a dlc and calling it "non-essential" is a pretty good indicative of the storyline for a character whos race has been a critical plot element during the entire setting.

Something something slippery slope something something pre-order cancelled.

The way I see it is TB's boycott video has seen huge exposure; TB's 620,000 have been made aware of it, the video has been 'Liked' or 'Favorited' by other huge channels namely BlueXephos. The video has about 400,000 views and considering TB's audience I'd suggest at least 10,000 people will boycott the game, which is actually quite alot.

EA laughs at missing out on 10,000 people boycotting. Now if the number goes up to 100,000 to 300,000 , then EA probably won't do this ever again.

Last week alone if use VGC, pre-orders went up by around 150k in a single week and for USA alone which is less than half the world sales if include Europe and rest of world. Obviously VGC is not 100% accurate but neither is estimate of how many you think will boycott which is also assumption. 10k reduction vs 300k increase in single week as also assumption is not going to have them running for the hills.

In the end the people who boycott based on principles will only achieve keeping their principles intact. It won't bring down EA or force change but they will retain their principles.

Why was Left 4 Dead 2 boycotted? I don't remember :s

Because it was "Released too soon"

Yeah, some of the people who had L4D were mad that they'd bought L4D and that there was a sequel coming out so soon, from what I recall after chatting with a friend about it. We both have L4D and L4D2 - I pretty much laughed about it after hearing how angry they were.

They gave zaeed and the cerberus network to everyone who bought the game. They didn't take a huge plot point and make you pay 10 dollars for it. Did you forget about zaeed? This is the exact same scenario, except instead of a random old guy it's an enormous plot point, and they are ripping off their fans.

Imagine if they made you fork over 10 bucks to get legion on day 1. You would miss out on all the lore and backstory of the geth. It creates a big hole in your understanding of the ME universe vs. someone who has it. It's something that is ready Day1 you get your game, but they gate it with a 10 dollar pricetag. It's reprehensible.

If you actually give them your money, you are only making it worse for yourself and others down the road.

I don't think it's that black/white.As a CE buyer I thinks it sucks that regular buyers won't be getting day dlc free , but at the same time I see the day 1 dlc as a reward/premium content.

I seriously doubt it. There's people out there who don't even connect their consoles to the internet and thus never download any DLC.

Sorry you feel that way, but no they are not. I am a fan and been around here a long time but in no way do I feel ripped off in the slightest. If I wish to see what impact having him has on my enjoyment of the game or story I will pick him up at some point, if I do not care for him I will not purchase him. The only way would have felt annoyed with this is if they only made it exclusive to the CE and not available to everyone else which they did not do.

I do not buy the books, comics and may not buy the anime all of which contain plot element details and lore. This is no different.
