Hey guys, I searched this board for this idea before posting but came up with no results. This is just an idea for some future DLC in order to spice up the already great multiplayer.

We already do missions in the form of fighting for territory, these missions are about survival and keeping the enemy at bay.

But what if we had some missions where our elite team of 4 turn the tables? Sort of like how MMOs do dungeons.

For example,

Cerberus captures a council member and is holding him/her aboard one of their dreadnaught ships. As a group, we would aid in the rescue of this said council member.

This mission would start with the four on a shuttle preparing to dock as a boarding party, with a 10-20 second ready timer. We'd be given as a group objectives to complete, such as disable the engine core which could be defended by 3-4 Ymir mechs. After completing the objectives, we'd be given the final objective to save the said council member. The final event would be a randomized (like how objecitves already are),  such as a single (or mulitple) boss type character(s) in the way, or we would have to put a hacking device on the door and defend it for 3-5 minutes. (think Lair of the Shadow Broker) while fending off a last ditch effort by Cerberus to repell us.

The reward system would work just like how it is in the regular mulitplayer, giving us credits for completing the objective and extra credits for doing it quickly.

what do you guys think?

Who's saying there isn't already stuff like that in it? We've only seen two maps on the demo. we'll see what retail brings with it

Good point, they may have this mode in the full game but want it to be a surprise perhaps. Reardless of if they do or not I like this idea alot

Those mission in ME 2 or 1 where you have to do stuff in a capture ship or random base would make an awesome game mode, 4 players with a ship hub where you select mini missions to run.

and as you do them you get emails and such that lead to more mission, like MW2 spec ops.

If they already have it, i'll gladly delete this post. But so far it looks like it'll be only the survival horde mode.

Feel free to add your mission ideas guys, maybe this'll catch wind :)

I'd like to see something like a point-to-point capture mission, like what Team Fortress 2 has. For example, capture an enemy ship by taking over the hanger then the engine room then the armory then the bridge. Something like that.

Also the flip side of that, defending a base. Say, you have to protect a mainframe or something for X amount of time until it's ready to be evacuated. Losing a point would hinder your defensive capabilities.

I was also thinking about something like Assassin's Creed Revelations' Tower Defense-esque mini game, but I can't think of how to work something like that out. It would be neat, but probably not for multiplayer.

I'd definitely like to see the co-op explored in a bit more depth. The horde stuff is fun, but even Gears of War has evolved the concept with Horde 2.0 (featuring a base-building system, random boss waves every 10th wave and challenges that reward weapons, ammo, money etc). But as others say, it would be nice to be able to do more traditional Mass Effect style missions with your buds.

Yes please. This could even tie in to Single-Player, as Multi-Player allows you to "promote" your character when the character is Level 20. Doing things related to the war, it makes sense.
This could have so many possibilities, if it was added.
