A thanks goes to CJohnJones for the idea.:o

"This will act as a base for a large community of mods and modders who
want to add into the world but don't want to affect the main campaign."

Ferelden:AO
is a rebuilt Ferelden devoid of any major content. I will be rebuilding
all of the basics such as attaching all the locations to the map and
all the in game area transitions between the areas. When the basics of
the world is rebuild I plan to recruit a few very qualified modders to
create the new intros for the origins. Once all of that is done we will
be releasing the mod with a few basic npcs, quests and merchants etc.

High Concept:
To
create a blank Ferelden with which modders can add their own campaigns,
quests and npcs to a Ferelden in the years after DA:O. This will act as
a base for a large community of mods and modders who want to add into
the world but don't want to affect the main campaign.

I think that could be neat, :). It'd then also be possible to have a bunch of additional town mods all co-existing at the same time (I've yet to try any mods, so I'm not sure if that's already possible...), custom content, etc, all working together. It might even be possible, with the assistance of model creators, voice actors, etc, to make Orlais, or somewhere else to explore, :).

It's very possible to have modders add towns and castles even new maps and regions. It's really an endless sand box idea for modders, and the players can pick and choose their mods to suit their play style and also expand on their gameplay.

Ideally there would be a few major releases such as basic town populations, wildlife and monster packs. Eventually every aspect of game content would be controlled by the players. I hope to have it become a little more popular when the basics are finished and we can begin alpha testing.

Big job Emery, good luck with it.

I too am modding Ferelden over at the guild, so if you see any locations of mine you want to use in the future, just ask.

All the best :)

Superb ambition, sers. I love the idea of what you're doing. It would be nice to keep the same landscapes but just add adventures or campaigns "a la cart." Plus it seems like this would take a lot of strain off other modders as the "base" would already be present for them to use. Sounds like a time-saver to me!

great idea i was very dissapointed when i completed the game nd there was no free roam it just stops i got all the addons but they lasted all of 30 mins so if there is a possibility of free roam with endless randomised battles it would make gameplay endless
