Mass effect is built on singleplayer.... but this multiplayer is good. I'm tempted to play a little singleplayer then go to multiplayer, then back to Single player etc etc.
When will you play the MP?

Considering I really enjoyed the multiplayer in retrospect, I think I'll play it every so often. It will definitely halt my singleplayer progress a bit, but that still comes first.

Finish the SP campaign at least once, mebbe twice then check out MP.

I plan to do the same. I'll probably jump on multiplayer first for a round or two and then start up single player.

After I go through the game 3 - 4 times.
Or not. MP gets boring after a bit.

The mp is a lot of fun and quite addictive.
I'll play the sp for probably the first/intro mission to a similar stage as when you're ready to first go to Omega in ME2 then switch over th the mp for a while. After that I'll switch back and forth for variety I think.

I have two plans: One, I will play completely through the single player and not touch the multiplayer until I'm done with SP to avoid possible spoilers and then make a few multiplayer characters to transfer over into SP for my 2+ playthroughs or Two, I'll play through about halfway of SP and then move into multiplayer to get my characters to transfer over.
The most likely scenario will be plan two.

It's not needed though.

SP first, MP after

i'll beat SP first, since you get the highest "galactic readiness level" without the aid of MP... and then i'll dedicate all of my time to MP for my NG+ and future ME3 runs.

Yeah I'm super-completionist so I won't be needing the war assets or whatever from MP...

Never after ME3 official release

Probably won't touch SP for a few weeks. MP is too much fun. I loved the combat in ME2 and this is 10x better but without having to sit through cutscenes. Don't get me wrong, I love the ME story, but I want to play it after I've got my combat fix and can just enjoy the story instead of skipping dialogue to get to the next fight.

That first day... man, I'm just going to get as far into the story as I can. The wait's been nearly unbearable. Then, I want to play a few rounds of MP. Probably just the maps and enemies from the demo so I don't spoil anything for myself. (enemies or maps).

I'll probably end up playing MP before SP. Normally, it'd be the other way around, but not only is the co-op a lot of fun in ME3, but I also don't have a complete ME2 save handy, and have been spending what little gaming time is available to me playing MP in the demo rather than readying my ME2 campaign for import.

I love the MP, but I really want to focus on the single player for the first couple of days. I don't think thats how it will work out though.
I have a rule with games and that rule is NEVER play MP until I've finished the single player campaign. I do this cuz there is always some 12 punk who talks about the ending before I've seen it.
So with that said if I can play the single player and get the perfect ending then I'll do that and play MP after. If not I'll play MP alongside the SP so I can get my readiness to the max if I don't find all off the sidequest in the main game. I'll just turn down the volume so I can't hear anyone.

I'll probably start the SP so that I can get the bonuses and then MP until I at least unlock most of the stuff I want.

We'll see, but I expect I will be too enthralled with singleplayer to give MP a glance until I've finished. Like a previous poster has said, the wait has been unbearable. Coupled with the fact that I've played the heck out of MP already. I love the MP, but that's not why I bought ME3.
I'll try to go back and forth, because I think it'll be cool to see how my MP gaming affects my galactic readiness.
