I wouldn't classify editing lyrics as writing a song.
Ah. I guess I didn't recognize the "tune," as it were.

When I was a little kid, I used to love that song. Muppet Treasure Island was practically my favorurite movie.Dave of Canada wrote...

Isn't FFXIII and XIII-2 essentially a movie?

A bad one, yeah. Gameplay can be enjoyable however.

There's a balance that has to be struck between cutscenes and gameplay.
Honestly, I feel like Bioware has generally been pretty good with that. Valve too, if you count the scripted sequences as cutscenes. Squeenix? They're on the extreme end of it (not Metal Gear Solid extreme, mind you). Bethesda too, just in the opposite direction.

I don't think this is really necessary. It's nothing we didn't already know about from ME2, just said somewhat more articulately. Though it is a decent way to set up initially good intentions that become corrupt and fall.laecraft wrote...
Many people who haven't read Evolution are left in the dark about TIM's ideas. Dave posted it before, but it's worth a repost, so here it is again:
"- And while it is with a heavy heart that I report the loss of our comrades in arms, Ben Hislop and Eva Core - they died as they lived, protecting humanity to the last. And what they helped discover not only confirms everything I believe - it has proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there is something out there to protect humanity against.
"Desolas was right. The stars look warm and inviting to us - places to be explored, knowledge to be had, riches to be made.
"But we will not always be welcome. Those who came before may not be willing to share. It is the way of things. It is inevitable.
"A dark time is coming. Humanity will be tested. And while we may not know who is doing the testing or why - we must meet the challenge, as we have met all the others. We will succeed. Because to do anything else would be inhuman. We will watch the dark places - and bring illumination. There is no magic - only technology. Tools that we can master. Tools we must master. Not just to survive - but for the betterment of mankind.
"We can - and will - take our rightful place in the stars. This is my manifesto. I hope you will join my cause."
I feel this should be in game, so the players would know what exactly TIM stands for. Shepard's got access to Shadow Broker database, and the recording is in free access, he should be able to look up such info. There is a reference to the manifesto in the Codex, a curious and politically savvy Commander would no doubt try to look up the manifesto itself, just to find out what the hell he got involved with, and other such minor but interesting things, like what quarians look like without helmets.

Speaking of the dying stars, here's the collection Seboist posted in the previous thread, if someone missed it.
