So I'm currently reading through ME: Ascension.
I'm surprised, I didn't know TIM actually did meetings in person.

Also, I keep supporting everyone Cerberus in this book, I can't help it.

I think you'll enjoy Retribution a lot more.

Would this be sarcasm?

My reaction as well. Wtf? Is his skin going to peel off a la Renegade Shepard's scars now as well?

Didn't you see the step by step huskification of him in his ME3 concept form the art book?

I've only seen the original idea they had for boss TIM.

It's on the same page. It shows the ME2 codex potrait of TIM slowly being huskified(and magically growing a cigarrette, wtf).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we met indoctrinated organics in previous games that haven't been huskified?

What's not to like about TIM going full final fantasy villain or RE5 Wesker?

The humans in Arrival were indoctrinated and didn't show it.

Yes, those Salarians on Virmire and the personnel of "The Project".

Gamecritics.com takes Bioware's DLC scamming, shoehorned multiplayer and ME3 demo to task (skip to 36:00)

I listened to it while working and I just found myself nodding to everything they were saying about the pacing, the story, the combat etc. It's nice to see someone who isn't all "EVERYTHING IN THE DEMO WAS AWESOME AND ANYONE COMPLAINING IS A WHINER."

Yeah gee, sorry for not buying a crappy excuse for an intro.

The intro was ****ing horrible. The arrival of the Reapers should have been the most monumental moment in the series up until that point. Instead it was a moment completely devoid of gravitas; the Reapers just descend and start shootan stuff.

They forgot to mention the ham-fisted attempt at "emotional engagement" with the kid in the intro.

Holy shit that was bad.

They scrapped the idea of huskified TIM.

Also, Bioware trying to make money off of DLC they didn't have to make isn't a crime. Also the MP is quite decent and the intro at least gets you into the game quickly (I'll admit it was underwhelming, though).

Agreed the kid was way over the top. The burning ships falling into Earth as you escape was great though.

Mhm, quite. It was crass heartstring-tugging at its absolute worst.

Frankly I felt more sorry for the injured soldier who also got killed than the kid. And I don't like the idea of sacrificing story for combat. The intro was rushed, the Alliance committee were a bunch of buffons and the arrival of the Reapers was so underwhelming. I was disappointed. I wanted something that would make me sit at the edge of my chair.

And as far as I'm aware it only says in the art book that they scrapped Transformer TIM.

So the pic with Shepard and Anderson going through the room with a bunch of dead Cerberus troops. Is that supposed to be TIM who killed them because he went insane or something?

No, I liked Retribution a lot for its portrayal of TIM and Kai Leng and Cerberus as a whole.

You'll have new reasons to hate them if you are so inclined, but also reasons to respect them and/or like them. TIM especially is well rounded in the novel.

I never keep my promises. It's a character flaw of mine. Image IPB

Okay... I promise I'll constantly post in this thread and never just pop in once in a while to point something out about whatever off-topic shenanigans you guys get into.

Hopefully that works.

Ah, I see.
Started reading it already, currently at the part in which Grayson gets *SPOILER* implanted with Reaper tech *SPOILER END*

I'd probably do the same in TIM's place. I sort of like Grayson, but he went against TIM's orders and brought this upon himself.

Grayson should be thankful his body was used for the benefit of humanity and not riddled with bullets and thrown in a ditch. Although either one would have been merciful compared to what my femshep would have done to that treasonous lowlife son of a ****.

Speaking of shooters, the accidental invasion of Earth by the Covenant in Halo 2 was done in a far more impressive way.

And that for a game from late 2004, mind you.
