I wouldn't expect anything less from BW at this point but it's nice knowing that most of these anti-TIM/Cerberus/Renegade jack offs will have their Shepards and their virtual waifus/husbandus die soon after he does. Image IPB

Yeah, what I love the most are reactions of some particular paragons who were telling us all the time that TIM's behavior and how Cerberus are the bad guys is all so 'realistic' and we should deal with it, plus telling us that we aren't being screwed over at all, while we were giving them a ****load of reasons for why we think BioWare were not exactly impartial.

That reminds me: I haven't seen Xil here for, I think, about two days now. I wonder what would she have to say about all this...

Not a bug, they don't have any slides for the ME2 romances.

Even more, regardless if it's sci-fi or fantasy it STILL amounts to little more than "ancient big bad wants to destroy everything".

That was my biggest problem with ME1, especially after replaying KOTOR 2 over and over again prior ME1's release. However, you've read the spoilers. You know that there actually is more to the Reapers than "evil machines wanna rule the world muahaha!". I was hoping for that and got it so I'm satisfied. Of course we could have enless debates exactly how good this "more" to them is, if it's a good motivation/explanation etc. But overall I like it, think it's at least decent and it definitely ain't like the Reapers are still completly one-dimensional like they were in ME1

I like the Reapers in ME3, they sound downright scary and their purpose makes enough sense IMO.

I don't mind the bittersweet ending. Shepard should be making a sacrifice.

What I do mind is how they have to cheapen his last moments by shoving Liara down our throats, the revelation that makes all of ME1 seem stupid, and the "space magic" ending.

Just shameful. I don't care if they weren't planning too far ahead, any competent team of writers would see the issues with these things no matter their method.

Finished Retribution.
TIM is seriously badass in it(Kai Leng as well, but that's a different matter) and I just can't help but wonder what the hell happened to him between the events of this book and ME3.

He thought doing to himself what he did to Grayson was a good idea.

Aka, transforming him into a generic villain.

Space magic I don't mind so much, since it's pretty much been a part of the endings for all three games: magical corpse possession, magical essence of species creation, and now magical kill-all-reapers device.

Which, to be honest with ourselves, was the only sort of victory over the Reapers they were setting themselves up to allow.

If it were a one time thing, that'd be a weakness, but space magic has
been a central part of Mass Effect from the beginning, starting with the
mind-beacon and Asari melds. ME2, bar the Human Reaper, probably had the least space magic if you ignore stasis fields.

Liara is rather annoying, if only because she's inconsistent and I don't exactly find her respectable.

I wish it would have been possible for my Cerberus femshep to opt to become a reaper avatar(shortly after "enjoying" TIM for the last time of course :P) along the lines of Grayson but sans being reaper controlled. Having all those enhancements sans that drawback would have been an Image IPB

How do you feel about the endings, Dean?

I personally like the fact that there are sacrifice endings, but I intensely dislike that there isn't ANY happy ending, considering that this series was supposedly about player choice and consequence. I think there should have been a wider array.

Frankly, I find the great outcry over the endings hilarious. Lots of "Paragons" desperate to sacrifice the entire galaxy so that Shepard can ride into the sunset with his/her LI.

I suppose there is some sort of fairness to this. In the end, it doesn't matter if you're a Paragon or a Renegade - everyone is equally screwed. Not exactly how I wanted P/R paths to be equal - I wanted everyone to be satisfied, not everyone suffering - but it's still some justice.

I'm very pleased with these endings. Finally I have something to look forward to, even if it is just the wailing of all the bleeding hearts who didn't get a happy ending. Victory at last is mine.

Sure, it's contrived and stupid, but in that regard it is right in line with the them of ME3.

Hopefully there will be GTA 5 (next year) and Civilization V expansion at summer, when you're disgusted after finishing the first ME3 runs.

Never was too fond of the reaper plot, I wish the main plot revolved around the politics between the citadel and terminus aliens with humanity in there somewhere.

I actually enjoyed being Hackett's enforcer in the ME1 side missions more than anything in the main missions. My Shepard going into full death squad mode in the Major Kyle mission is one of the best moments in the series by far.

I've only read some vague details of the endings, since unlike you guys I'm still looking forward to play the game.

As strange as it may seem to say that it takes enormous brass balls to not write an out-and-out happy ending for a game who's central theme is galactic genocide, given the expectations of many on this forum, that's precisely what it took. And I'm incredibly pleased that, despite what's been repeated for four and a half years, the unflinchingly shortsighted naivety of hardcore Paragons isn't going to get them a fairy tale ending any more than being a "big meanie grumpy mean-meanie-pants" (to quote Pinkie/most of the true blue types here).

What am I, chopped liver? I was always going to pick the self-sacrifice ending.

I just think the linearity was a bad idea.

It's contrived but at least the Paragons will finally have something complain about.

Not trying to seem hostile, but Paragons already had stuff to complain about, like Anderson or the Rachni, or Cerberus magically getting Collector Tech.

Again, I'm not arguing that we're "entitled" to some happiness or anything, but there was already plenty on both sides that BW f-ed up.

And if that wasn't bad enough, that blue tentacled headed bitch Liara gets Miranda's former quarters as well. Another  Image IPB
