Her outfit is nothing more than a visual representation of her ass and breasts, The hexagonal pattern is just a cerberus thing.

You must be one of those people complaining that Ashley's new look is ruining her character, too.

Not ruining her character just disrespecting it. And so what?

compared to how she was portrayed earlier? yes.  "Dolled" up does not mean character development.

Actually, in her case, i think it kind of does.

We met Ashley while she was fighting for her life on Eden Prime. She's a career soldier and her initial appearance reflected that.

However, on the Citidel she made a joke about Shepard getting her in "thigh high boots and a mini skirt". I got the impression that away from work, she rather liked getting "dolled up".

In ME3, is she not a SPECTRE? That means she's free of many of the constraints of military life, and that is reflected in her new appearance.

I like to think about it this way:

  • Miranda - old sex symbol
  • Williams - new sex symbol
  • Miranda is a love interest in ME2
  • Williams is a love interest in ME1
  • The PC can "cheat" on Williams with Miranda in ME2
  • Miranda appears on a mission in ME3 (I suppose)
  • Williams returns as a full squad member in ME3
  • The PC can take Williams on that mission which features Miranda (I suppose)
  • Your PC was engaged in romance with Williams in ME1 (I suppose)
  • Miranda knows about that (duh)
  • Williams got that information either as a Spectre or by other means (I suppose)
  • Miranda and Williams both "know" that they both know
  • ...
  • CAT FIGHT

Yes...
I am bored.

[*]Maybe we will get the "choose both" option like in ME1...Maybe...Maybe....We can only dream :C

This will amaze some of you, but Mass Effect is not real. It is a game. And yes, it is set in a wonderfully deep and well-thought out universe, but in games sometimes you need to take liberties with the established rules for a multitude of reasons, such as gameplay and visuals.

I don't care about Miranda's ass. It's not an especially grand view even as far as video games go. I care about Samara looking like a warrior monk, and Mordin looking like a doctor.

Body armour would needlessly screw up the visual identity of many characters.

Darn, then we better start putting Ashley in a fox suit then. Y'know, with cute lil' ears and a bushy tail just to perfectly 'represent' how much of a sex-object she actually is. Great idea! *sarcasm*

Anyway, so a decent pair of armour isn't needed in a game centring around a huge world-scale war, then?

How is Ashley a sex object? She has never been depicted as such, so a fox suit wouldn't fit her characterisation.

apparently you havent seen the latest trailer. Apparently promotion comes with free boobjobs.

You mean that blue armor she had on? I didn't see any boobjob. I just saw a soldier with her hair down.

Psh, you're really missing the point here, aren't you? Maybe you should take another look at the Mass Effect games and wonder why almost every woman in those games looks almost physically perfect? I mean, nice body curves and proportions, attractive face, appealing breast size, etc? It's rather obvious, isn't it?

I wouldn't be surprised if there comes a DLC with a fox suit for Ashley, to be honest. And as Atakuma said, those outfits are highly unpractical in actual combat. Flexible, maybe, but still, why should it look like a CAT suit? That in itself is already rather ridiculous. Therefore I can only conclude it's meant to highlight the nice curves of your dear female squadmates.

The new look does not scream hardass military girl (and that is her character, don't even deny it).  I know a hardass military girl. She would have kicked this little dolls ass.

No, you are quite mistaken. The Cerburus logo vaguely resembles a hexagon, but i'm referring to the pattern on her catsuit, not the logo. She's the only person on the game to wear an item decorated in that way, and it does look very clinical.

I was kinda sorta- scratch that- I was REALLY hoping that Miri would have a different outfit since she tells TIM off and Quits Cerberus in My Playthrough(s).

I don't understand why BioWare didn't give her a new outfit. Removing the Logo and having her wear the same outfit is most definitely NOT what I call Character development. I figured that since she resigned, she would be wearing something quite different.

BioWare once Stated that EVERYONE would get a redesign. Removing the Symbol and still wearing the white outfit does not count FFS.

I bet BioWare was SO busy creating development for the Multiplayer and the development Characters like VS, Liara, etc, that they lost time and money. They should have focused on EVERY EFFING *MAIN* CHARACTER who was in your squad in both ME1 AND ME2 for ME3!

BioWare: "Oh sh*t we forgot the Characters who aren't Squaddies.....Oh well, just throw in the old outfits with small tweaks."

Because she was changed to pander to the male audience, not for any legitimate story reason.

She was actually dressed before the Reapers' surprise invasion.

Also, it really doesn't take that long to brush your hair and apply a bit of eyeliner. There will be plenty of downtime on the Normandy, and in many playthroughs she will have  Shepard to impress.
