Will we get lumped in with hackers?

I decided to try my first Gold level today.  I joined a quickmatch where there was only one guy.  I thought ok, this is weird or he's really ballsy.  Then I quickly noticed that we're both killing everything with one hit, both me and him.  So it's clear the guy was hacking, but I was getting credit for one-hit kills too.  It was getting boring so I quit the match, tried another gold level and died in about 30 seconds...

My question is, will there be any sort of policing?  I know it's co-op and Shepard wishes he could one-hit-kill everything, but hacking can still sap all the fun out of it.  And if there is policing and banning and what not, I really hope there's a way to distinguish between who the real hacker is and who is getting rewards as collateral.

Your name is a giveaway. I predict an imminent ban. I suggest saying your final words and ordering your last meal.

well it is a demo so i don't think they would care that much about it, but I'm sure they found everything wrong with the gameplay in the demo. so relax I'm sure they have a way to ban hackers. and what system are you playing on? xbox,pc, ps3? because i know MC will ban most hackers if you repost them. pc idk about, and for sony, they don't care enough about it.

I'm on PC. Yeah I figured they won't care about the demo, but I hope there's some sort of moderation in the full game. I'm just wondering because if something like punkbuster or VAC kicks in, it better not be indiscriminate about who it bans.

Hey, did you read the guys post up there? That made me laugh. I find implications... unsettling. Tell me how did you do it. Better yet tell Bioware or EA.

haha yeah I read it, but couldn't come up with something funny so I sorta ignored it. I don't know what hack he used, but I'm pretty sure it was done through messing around with coalesed.ini or however you spell it. Seems like you can alter a lot of things through that, even in multiplayer. I did use a mod in ME2 to let me have both the Widow and Revenant for my soldier, but my SP game won't affect anybody else's experience. I thought Bioware would've locked it up tight for multiplayer. I don't dare touch it since I'm terrified of being banned from Origin and losing access to everything.

Eh, I dont really think cheating is that big of a deal in a Co-Op only game...

Yeah its a bother and they shouldn't do it, but if they are just go to another match.

Being banned from Origin and losing all your games is a real concern though... especially if it happens because someone else was hacking. They've stolen people's games for stupider things...

As soon as someone releases anything it's not a matter of locking it up tight and safe. It's all just delaying measures. It will be cracked/hacked/whatever by someone.

Right, it's not the cheating I'm concerned about, especially since it takes all of 5 seconds to quit and hop into another match.  It's the (potential) moderators' response I'm worried about, since it seems like if someone hacks their game for more damage or experience, non-cheaters benefit too.  So if someone/something with a banhammer looked at that game it'd look like everybody's cheating.

So obviously they ban the host that modded the game. Not sure why this is hard to figure out?

The only hack i would have to have in the demo is 1-shotting the bloody phantoms, those things are WAY too powerful, especially their pistol.
