Is there anyway to search as a group. I usually only have 1 to two friends online at a time, and we try to start a public match but the extra spot never gets filled. Is this just because we are playing the emo, or am I missing something?

I've found the same thing. I really wish there was an option to join as a party.
As a partial solution, you can join a game solo and have your friend right click your name from the friends list and hit "Join Game." If you get into a game that's already full, just drop and try again until you and your friend are in the same game.

There is no search as a group as far as I know, would be nice if Bioware adds the feature eventually in the full game?

Thats what we have been doing but it is really annoying and sometimes takes a while to find a random group that is missing 1 or 2 people.
