I like the new body of EDI, this going to be quite interersting having her walk around the. Also EDI is an AI and AI's can multi task she use the body and still be the voice of normandy.

Personally i thought it a tad bit odd they gave 'her' a female looking robot body.

It's no stranger than giving the Presidium V.I. a female "body." Or giving KOS-MOS one in Xenosaga. Hell, I'm pretty sure Star Wars had droids that had feminine bodies, as well.
EDI may not have a sex drive, but that doesn't necessarily mean she wouldn't develop a sense of aesthetic style. So I can totally see her making a curvy feminine body for herself. And despite the fan-whinging about this detail, it's not even out of place in the universe, even if you're only accounting for the universe as presented by ME1--again, a lot of very feminine V.I. avatars.

Guri is the classic example.

Shepard: "Uhh Morden do you have a sec, I know this is not the best time but"
Glancing down Zipping noise
Morden: "Strange.. green not typical pigmentation.. nothing serious.. chemical reaction of body to copper.. no... yes... humm Edi's new body 60% copper.. implacation amusing. Perhaps you should warn Joker."
Shepard" Uhh no lets just keep this between us."

Or as Futurama clearly taught us Dont date the ship (or robots)

EDI is one of the two things I hate about Mass Effect 3.
But they don't really matter to me anyway. What happens is what happens.

Hey if you gonna have a combat robot with a female AI... you might as well making it something to look at... atleast until you get to Rommie/Data's level's of synthetics as in full functional XD

even Liandri understood this hell they based thier top of the line Assistant bot on a Adult holo star XD

The actual body (despite its Uncanny Valley human-ess) doesn't bother me as much as what is going to be done with it.

Haven't read all the posts on this thread, but we've been told that ALL squaddies have at least 2 appearances to choose from. At LEAST 3 with the CE/From Ashes Pack. Hopefully we'll have different body models (ones with differing hair and/or no visors) to choose from with EDI.

I'm usually all for the designs Bioware comes up with but i can honestly say i HATE the EDI model we've been shown. It's too 'World of Tomorrow'. Also, the body is referred to as an infiltration unit. Nothing about it looks like it was designed for infiltration however. For old lonely guys of the future yes, but not infiltration :P

When I heard she was getting a body this time round i was really hoping for a hairstyle similar to this.

Much less contrived, much more appealing and just how I always pictured her really :P

should be more like Kos-mos from Xenosaga, have robot elements that enable her to do extra things; but mostly a human looking body.

I was hoping that she'd get skin too.  Lazarus Project did give Shepard some skin, so the tech is there...

Hard to tell, I have seen the concept art only. It looks ok but I'm hoping she looks better in-game.

Who wants an ugly synthetic female droid anyway? If your going to build one why not have it look like that.

Like, I get that people like looking at toned lady parts, but was it really necessary to make her... that... vivacious?

Kinda ridiculous. Much would have preferred a more robotic frame, with just a hint of slender femininity. This is a too over-the-top, and this is a game with a LOT of over-the-top stuff.

If I'd have a robot, you bet I'd have her sexy as possible.

But... you already have like 5 at least moderately attractive females of various species on your ship. Do you really need a curvy robot?

:P

Am I the only one when I saw EDI's body think of a certain sketch on Robot Chicken about a scientist introducing a female robot to a group. I won't lie I laughed myself silly when I saw her picture and thought about Green as Joker asking the same question as the audience member in said sketch.

I love how people feel perfectly comfortable making broad statements without actually knowing what they're talking about.
