I always love the veiled homophobia in these threads <3. Lol at Kaidan making like three comments overall about women being evidence that he's straight but the fact that he was originally scripted to be bi is not.

Not only that, i find it very hypocritical when people have a problem with Kaidan being bi and not with Ashley...

Butthurt because I want to be able to have a "brothers-in-arms" type of dialogue with Kaiden. As in the first game, and indeed as with many soldiers who serve time and fight battles battles together.

Not have him come on to me for gaysex because of a vocal gay minorities fantasies.

Anyway, I rest my case, games out in a week, we'll see what the score is then. Either way, my first playthrough won't have him in, just in case.

my husband's best friend is a gay man.  and let me tell  you?  he is 100 % straight.     you are making no sense whatsoever.

so you can't be friend with a woman because you think she may have sexual fantasies about you?

Ummm, what did Anders do wrong? I havent noticed he flirted with Hawke ... M.

IIRC, if you are nice to him twice in a row in a certain convo, he goes "Looks like you have a heart under that scruffy exterior" then apologies for saying that. Bioware doesn't give you an option to turn him down without gaining rivalry, and players think rivalry is the same thing as negative approval.

Technically correct, but the implication is that gaining rivalry is bad, which is patently false.

Not the rivalry thing again... I love how people point out their manliness when Anders hits on them, but then don't have the balls to take +15 rivalry. Suck it up.

I don't THINK anything, I KNOW my female friends have sexual fantasies about me...I didn't ask for these powers...it's just the way it is.

I don't think it's extreme to ask for a way to turn a character down without being rude.
Has nothing to do with maliness, by the way.

If only Mass Effect was set in the 60's. Kaidan would be hanged under a tree.

That's fair. Anders seems the type to be a big baby about it regardless, but yeah, Hawke should be able to turn him down without being a jerk about it.

TBH, that's not just a problem with Anders. I found it hard sometimes to be just friends with Kaidan or Ash in ME1 without shutting them down meanly. Here's hoping Bioware improved frienship paths all around, and made the triggering dialogue as clearly labelled as Thane's.

(For anyone who doesn't talk to Thane as a Femshep here, you get an option labelled "I want you"...Shep's real subtle...)

Will Kaidan be the only Bi/****** character?

Ashley is also bi.

There are also 2 dedicated crewmen aboard the Normandy who are 100% homosexual for both male and female Shepard.

Of course, Liara is also available for both genders.

You know, I find it interesting that there are 100% homosexual people, bi people, but no 100% hetero people. Seems the pendulum has swung all the way to the other side. Yeah, that's a perfect reflection of modern society. Image IPB

Kaidan has always been bisexual. I suspected he was so in the first game. It's just the way he acts and then in the sequel at the beginning, he's wearing pink armor.

COME ON. IT WAS OBVIOUS HE WAS BI ALL ALONG!

I think he prefers men more though. What do I care anyway? He's dead in my game!

:D

Also, I'm pretty sure than Thane is 100% straight. I don't think anyone can start a romance with him in ME3.

Given that Thane had a wife and has a son, I'm defo sure he's straight. He was in love with his woman as well...

Man, Krios was easily one of the best characters in ME2, would love him to be a squadmate in ME3.

Not to start an argument about whether Thane was this, that or anything else, because I don't much care, but I'm reasonably sure that bisexual people are capable of falling in love with someone of the opposite sex, marrying them, and having children with them. Because they are, you know, bisexual. They like both men and women, not just people of the same sex. So "Thane had a wife so there's no way he could be bisexual" isn't in any way logical. Just thought I'd mention that.

If "brothers-in-arms" dialogue is what you want with him, the you will be fully satisfied in a week, if the leak is to be believed. Regardless if he's available for gay romance or not.

Awesome - glad they are taking a route other than "sex or calibrations" like in ME2.

You have to remember this is an "Anders" thing, hes the only one who does that if you turn him down. Dont forget he has a demon of Vengance inside of him that wants to take revenge at anyone he think is doing him harm

And dont forget Anders is obssessive and demands approval from everyone he meets (read his dialogue with aveline and carver), thats just his personality...

He specifically cited Hawke acting like a templar and that's why he was annoyed.
There's a way to turn people down without acting like thought police.
In the conversations after this, Anders is basically begging you not to get involved with him. I don't believe for a second that there's no conceivable way for Hawke to turn Anders down without getting rivalry points or being rude.

This has nothing specifically to do with gay romances, by the way. I believe female Hawke also gets this.

Excatly, its amazing how some people dont even check if this is a character issue and not a sexuality problem.
I guess its easier to blame homosexuality instead of analizing characters actual flaws...
