Honestly, I think it's nice there's some diversity to the accents - 99% of the accents are either North American or Canadian... The other 1% is a either English or Scottish, and I can only think of two characters with those accents... Some people seriously need to broaden their perspective..

I thoroughly enjoy it. It's nice that an unexpected character gets an unexpected accent. Course go back to Ilos and hear some of the names if there is any doubt why he should have this accent.

I remember something like Ishan.....something Arabic sounding.

While the voice doesn't really suit his looks, I like it. It makes me wonder about a few things story related, speculation of course. The first humans are believed to come from around Africa. Protheans have ruins on Mars which is just a stepping stone away from Earth. So it makes me curious if the Protheans meddled with the earliest forms of man. So, it'd be like, the Prothean doesn't sounds Kenyan, but rather, ancient humans sounded Prothean in their accents.

This, plus the references to the prothean ruin where you see the vision. Period, done, end thread. It's just really weird and kinda frustrating that a lot of you simply can't accept (relative) innovation in the genre of scifi. Obviously bioware realized it would be pretty much the most cliche thing in the world to give Precursors a regal, ethereal, almost supernatural voice. Instead of doing the expected without an explanation but simply because that's what's "right" in the scifi world, they implement a unique idea that makes perfect sense in the ME world. I also don't know how they could make him sound "more alien" than other species. Unless you just want him speaking his own tongue with subtitles, I don't feel like any one alien speaking english is any more "alien" than another one speaking english.

To all the 5 year olds calling me a racist, I'm African American. Growing up with family from Nigeria and Zahire, and working with a few African co-workers, I can tell you firsthand that Africans aren't exactly the most sophisticated peeps out there (though there are many who are). Not saying they're rude or crude, just not very well spoken due to their accents.

finc.loki laid out my thoughts perfectly a couple of pages back. It's hard to feel immersed with such an accent. Now had he been with a South African one, it'd feel more unique, due to many SAs being less out of focus in mainstream media. I just can't buy into this due to always equating that voice to a human. It doesn't fit the look or atmosphere of ME. Quarians' Eastern Euro accent was pushing it, but they did have somewhat of a gypsy look and background with names like Vas Neema, or Veetor. It fits.

Yeah it's not even that it's a 'bad' voice.

It's just that it's so recognisable as a Nigerian accent that every time he speaks it's like "Prothy is Nigerian"

A more obscure accent would have been better.

I guess we'll have to wait for the game to come out before we can say whether ot not it actually suits him though.
