Heheh, no problem.

Though Gamespot is dumb too.

I was quoting izmirth - who was right - and didn't check the title :) But like you said, they're both dumb..

This article was from GameSPY. Look at the title.

Oh, right, right.. mah bad.

GameSPY is dumb. Hope that clears it.

Heheh, no problem.

Shows what I think of them. Couldn't even be bothered to get the name right. So....all news sites that begin with the word Game are dumb.

I heard it was a prothean egg type deal, like the rachni and shepard gives birth to yet another alien!

Is everyone forgetting that Vigel the Prothian VI told Shep in game 1 that the dozen or so Prothians that were left from ILOS went through the relay they built to the Citadel to sabatage the Citadel at that time to stop the Reapers. It was already leaked that you find the Prothian squad mate in the hidden/not used lower depths of the Citadel in some form of a Prothian energy field that looks like a egg. So... im calling it now. I believe he is probably the only surviver of those dozen or so that made that trip to the Citadel and somehow was either put into stases after he compleated his mission and or was somehow captured by the KEEPERS and put into stases and hidden away on the Citadel.

Actually, from both the script leak many months ago, and from people who have played the full game much more recently, we know that the Prothean is found on Eden Prime.

Which would make sense, really. The 12 scientists from Ilos (nice number btw..) were the only known survivors of the Protheans - to Vigil at least.

Trouble is, Prothy's dug up lines make it quite clear he's not a scientist. I think one of them actually states that.

Oh. Well that's that, then.

I thought you met him on Eden Prime? Or Mars? And now I'm hearing the Citadel. I hope he's not the "last survivor". There should at least be a few more to help out, otherwise he won't really "connect" to the story. He'll just stand out like Tali in most of the first game, a walking Quarian or Prothean Codex entry.

I just had a terrible thought that the suspected deus ex machina people are concerned about may well be a Prothean fleet appearing from no where to save the day *shudders*

I know it won't happen but it's still a horrible image.

*early game spoiler*

Actually, for the record, it's an incomplete device that the Protheans were developing to overcome the Reapers with, data about which is recovered from a facility on Mars on the way out of the solar system after escaping the Reaper invasion of Earth. Naturally, this device is also what the Illusive Man wants, for his own reasons, hence the mission where you're fighting Cerberus for this data (mentioned in Game Informer).

On the contrary, I fervently hope he's unique. I can accept *that much* of a stretch, but not more Protheans popping up after 52 000 years from their extinction.

Besides, the symbolism is far stronger if it's just HIM. The one. Came back from the dead to take revenge on the murderers of his race, and all that.

Being the last survivor is sort of the point of his character. He's reckless and angry. I mean, his whole race was wiped out.

There will be a world full of these things and that will be the next game fight the protheans!
