As I didnt import a save from mass effect 1 when I started my me2 playthrough, the game apparently auto killed Wrex although I never got to make that decision.
Will this mean that Wrex will be dead in mass effect 3 aswell if I import my save? As the demo mission includes him as a central character apparently, I'd rather have him on board. Is there a way to edit the save and make it so that Wrex lives maybe?

Gibbed save editor. If you have a PC or Xbox that is.

Yes, if you import that ME2 save Wrex will still be dead.

You can edit the save-file's plot flags using the Gibbed editor:

This is the guide for Xbox, I'm not sure if it's easier on PC:

Is there a comprehensive guide to do something like that using this software?

Ah thanks, I guess I'll just have to uncheck/check the boxes accordingly.

It isn't really that difficult. You just go into the software, on the top left corner press the open button(the folder) and select your save. Then:

On the outer tabs, select "Plot"

On the next tab in, select "Mass Effect 1"

On the next tab in, select "Flags"

Scroll to the very bottom, and uncheck the "Wrex killed" box.

You maaaaay have to check a couple other boxes, like "played ME1" in the Plot>Mass Effect 1 tab.
