Does anyone know the hot key for screen captures in mass effect?  Thanks!

I don't think there is any. You could try printscreen or download the free version of Fraps.

Fraps (paid), Xfire (free), Steam (in ME1/2), modifying game files to activate UDK screenshot keybinds in ME1/2 (Possible in ME3, but as we got Origin now, I wouldn't risk). Print screen doesn't work in fullscreen and it's inefficient.

Yeah.... steam had a pretty simple capture feature.

fraps, is free, makes screenshots and shows framerate in games. I think the full version is only for full sized video capture

add Mass Effect on steam, then use the F12 to capture frames.

Errata Corrige:
Add origin on steam; open origin with steam, then capture whatever you need.

Try right-clicking origin > Properties > Compatibility tab > check Disable Desktop Composition
That should fix the problems with black screen caps

Printscreen works if you play in a no border window mode, but not in full screen mode.

Hey, thanks for the tips. It works! Of course it screws up my Win 7 desktop Aero Theme but disabling it again or closing Origins fix it. Still, best way to take some pics because while I use Fraps to capture my vids, it impacts my FPS in any game even with a powerful enough system.

Could someone explain how to use Fraps to take screenshots? I downloaded the program, assigned a hotkey to screencaptures and every time I press it nothing appears in the folder I created for it.

Nevermind I managed.

Windowed mode display can be screencap via "print screen" key on your keyboard.

But of course, you need to trim it manually.

Dxtory

Shareware, but you can take screenshots without any limits or watermarks. Great tool

I'm still angry that HyperSnap (my go-to screenshooter) crashes the system if ran at the same time as ME3. Or is it Origin? No idea =(

BTW, why on Palaven would they not make the screenshot default button (F12, was it?) working by default? it's almost like they intentionally didn't want us to complain about the face imports!

Playing in windowed mode and using alt+print screen, then pasting to paint works; it's not ideal and odd that the ME3 directory has a "Screenshot" folder, yet no way of taking in-game screenshots.
