1 these threads make me wish ME remained a 360 exclusive

2 people complaining about this and claiming true profits are in the PC market also keep saying EA is money hungry and only looks for profits. Yet only one of those statements can be true....either they are wrong or EA is really not trying to make the most money

Thanks to the limitations of console hardware i can easily play all of the latest game releases on my PC with 4 years old GPU with a very high setings and decent framerates. I cannot afford to spend 500€ on latest GPU with ridiculous ammount of power and so it is a good thing that console hinder graphics development at least for me.
If you want to use power of the GTX590 and similar GPUs your only choice are a few simulator games that i bet you would not like to play. I would though but again i has no money.

I didn't think this kind of 'PC versus Console' stuff still went on!

The PC is finished as a gaming platform. It's a minority market and it's only a matter of time before developers just stop.

Mass Effect is a console series. The fact they even wasted development time and brought the game out for the PC is a mystery to me. Think about that next time you want to move in on a series and turn it's forum into a pit of negativity and childish angst.

My new Xbox cost £180.

I can top that... :P

Brand new Xbox, brand new copy of GTA IV, £160 all in, on sale from Asda. Bare minimum that you're looking at (from what I've seen) for a very basic gaming PC is £300-plus, and then, games wouldn't run as well as they do on my Xbox.

For a decent rig? Minimum £600-700, from what I can tell, so you're looking at almost four times the price.

Sod that!

EDIT:
And it'll be obsolete in two years, anyway. Besides, I only use my PC to give indie games like Terraria some love...

I'm against platform-exclusives, anyway; seems like bad business, to me, when you could release it on all three platforms, and potentially make three times as much money. Why limit your audience?

Besides, I keep saying how much I want Rockstar to port Red Dead Redemption over to PC, 'cos damn, I want my best mate to play it!

I own a PC, I own a console.

I mostly play on console though.

Three reasons :

- I like big RPGs, those type of games being huge generally comes with loads of glitches and compatibility issue that slowly tired me (eg I bought the Dragon Age Collection, it took me about ten times to have the install work, the install for Shep's sake, then I had to fought with the UI to have my DLC authorized, which I have yet to succeed at....).

- I hate stupid DRM, limited install, permanent online connections, etc... it's like the PC industry is actively trying to ruin the experience of legitimate paying customers.

- my couch

I would be all over Heavy Rain (again), Uncharted, and God of War if they were no longer console exclusive. It's kind of a shame. The reason I originally went Xbox 360 was because Bioware didn't release KotOR/Jade Empire on Sony, so 360 seemed the clear choice. Now that they're offered there as well, I find myself drawn to the PS3 exclusives.

Indeed. The problem I had with the PS3 was that me and my sister went halves on the console, 'cos it was her who wanted GTA IV, and at the time, neither of us could see any sense in paying twice as much for the PS3.

Even though that meant I never got to play Metal Gear Solid 4.

Which I'm not bitter about.

Honest...

/comfort.

It's okay. The PS3 is down in price from its whopping $600 deal. My plan is to wait for the months spanning right before PS4 release and just pick up all the great games. I'll completely nerd out.
