Creating a custom build for a PC is where science meets art. Hands down. You can overclock, you can make adjustments, you can do anything you want. Its a great skill to learn. I say, learn it. You'll be happier in the long run and there are plenty of websites out there that help you with the figuring out specs. Then you don't have to worry about proprietary software or an a limited warranty. Not to mention you build it right, you have a machine that is cheaper in the long run, and upgradeable which will allow it to last longer than the prefabs.

But that's my belief. Not everyone can do this. I am just glad I did. Good luck man.

Except I'm happy as I am, with a low-end business PC that can run many indie games (albeit with the need for a cheap gfx card, so I can play Dawn Of War). Besides, I don't need a top-end PC, I have an Xbox, BOOSH.

Anyway, there's more important things to spend money on. I need some new skins for my drum kit, before I buy anything else (ME3 notwithstanding, naturally).

DX11... My computer can only run DX9, because of something... It's something important, here just let me remember what it is...Oh yeah, it's because I'M POOR! Some people can't afford thousands of dollars for their machine, some of us have to make due with used Xbox's.

You don't need thousands of dollars for a DX11 machine.

more like 600 for a high-end PC without peripherals and you are set for 2 years.

If you can't make 600 dollars in 2 years, that's 1.2 dollars per day, you need to think long and hard about your life.

And now, for something completely different (and more related to the OP).
I'd like to note that the lower graphical settings have little relation to the fact that all versions of ME3 are supposed to be just as good, irrespective of console. BioWare obviously has at least some modicum of love for it's PC community, given the moddability and HD textures for DA2, and the moddability for DAO. That being said, not only do consoles bring in more money, but texture packs like that take man-power. Maybe they'll do it at some point in the future, but right now it seems unlikely. Including those extra set of options in the full game would've taken a similar amount of man-power during full developement, so I can see why it didn't happen then either. And finally, if BioWare just made the PC version look better in general, the amount of PC gamers who would be able to play it would plummet.

My computer would probably make a hardcore PC gamer cough up a lung (3.1 GHz Pentium 4 Dual Core, 4 Gigs ram, 9800GT). And yet I can still run the Mass Effect games at good settings, with all the lighting and effects that give it that distinct Mass Effect look. I'm not saying I'm that I think that we shouldn't get a HD texture pack at some point, but I can definitely approve of and love BioWare for letting even my tired old rig run a brand new game.

Its not so much the attainability as the price itself. 300 dollars a year. Xbox's have been 300 dollars for how many years now? I think most people would rather save money than have the up-to-date graphics.
