This weapon, it CHEWS people up for a living. A phantom with a single headshot is brought to two HP bars [ Turian Sentinel - Weapon Master ] on Silver. I can one-shot Guardians through shields. I am not saying this weapon is OP but damn does this rifle make you bad-ass with every kill.
I am glad I am out of the club that doesn't has the Widow yet!

still a bit dissapointed on gold though. With the Claymore you dcan one shot kill a phantom on gold. With the Widow, you don't even touch the health, as long as the barrier is still up.
Atlasas on the other hand take way more damage from the widow, than from the claymore.

My suboptimal spec'ed Asari Adept sporting her Widow needs exactly two shots on Gold and the Phantom is done for good. And with said Phantom locked up in Stasis, that is entirely sufficient (though still not enuff dakka, obviously).

The Widow is the best Sniper in the demo. Having the ammo mod and the barrel mod really makes it even more powerful.

I was level 99 and hadn't unlocked any gold weapon except carnifex and Hornet.
I unlocked back to back weapon packs and unlocked Widow and Widow II back to back lol.
I love it, +46% CD on salarian infiltrator is more than enough

Very little difference between the two at level X. The widow has the advantage of range and a larger clip though.

I unlocked it yesterday. My only gripe is that its weight makes it next to useless on any class below LV13 that isn't a Soldier.
Granted, though, I am looking forward to going as a Revvie-Widow Soldier next round.

On silver Phantoms can be 1-H-killed if you cloak first as an Infiltrator.
I like that even with all the power the Widow has, it's still balanced because of its weight (which is still worth it to me).

My level X Mantis does as much damage as the widow now 
I mean the widow is level1, but it just goes to show you how rare it is. I guess a level X widow would be rape.

Yeah I have a Mantis X and Widow I, Widow is still the superior weapon because it's able to shoot through mobs and guardian shields. Nothing more satisfying than killing 2 assault troopers with a single round....or slightling missing a "headshot" on Guardians and still taking him down.

I got a Widow 4 just yesterday... it def beats mantis in terms of damage (w/ barrel) and works very well with my max cloak damage salarian. It's a cm away from being max damage for it's stats. But I like using both snipers as I have no trouble shooting guardians thru the hole in their riot shields. I prefer mantis 10 on my turian sentinel for faster overloads.

Finally got my Widow I. While it is a very powerful sniper rifle (watching enemy's body flying is fun lol), it actually balances things a bit with the weight hence making you be more careful and not miss things since your powers recharge slower. Somehow it makes me value my Viper X more.

I love the Widow for being able to punch through Guardian Shields, but it is so much more satisfying to nudge your crosshairs right into that tiny slot. I talk to (and play with) a lot of people who apparently lack the finesse to do so. There are subtleties to being a good sniper, I think the Widow does away with those and substitutes sheer brute force. That's why I prefer the Mantis X, I think. Well, and the cooldowns.

The Widow is a nice weapon, but IMO the Carnifex is a better overall weapon. The Widow is super heavy and reloads slowly. With the Carnifex, I can spam abilities all day.
It only takes 1-2 shots on an unshielded enemy. Once you get the hang of nailing head shots while hip firing, it also becomes a deadly close range weapon. My playstyle is support/crowd control, but with the Carnifex I'm dishing out great damage as well.
