There seems to be a lot of confusion about how there could possibly be paid DLC for the first day of a game's release. Hopefully this will help explain it better.

You DO realize that people will ignore the info you have posted and will continue to bash it all, right?

Anyway, you make valid points. Since I study Game Development, I partially know how it works.

I wonder if someone would do a charter like that about CDProjekt Red which has released ALL The Witcher 2 DLC's for free, including a major 2.0 revamp difficulty patch and a coming Enhanced Edition when the X-box version is released.

People saying insinuating Bioware/EA is being selfish for charging for Day 1 DLC is funny to me.
Isn't it more of that the fanbase is being selfish wanting it for free?

I have no problem with what has happened with the DLC thing, except for the fact they leaked everything way to early with the CE description a while back. Also, if Prothy isn't an important part of the game that will be disappointing.

But the money thing doesn't bother me at all.
You don't have to buy it.
If you cant afford to buy the DLC, you probably shouldn't be spending your limited funds on a video game in the first place.

Nice and true picture but I don't think haters will accept it.

And people will blindly believe anything told to them so it balances its self out.

I believe that if I enjoy it, and it is priced like everything else I can compare it to, I will buy it. As is the case with ME3 and its DLC.

Thus I rarely have few issues with my purchases.

The link in the ot goes to a lengthy discussion about various subjects.

Would it be possible to create a summary or something instead of just tossing in a link to a discussion?

Yeah I wish more companies adapted the concepts that CDProjekt Red have been adhering to. They've proven that free dlc can be a good thing. That you don't have to sell part's of the game that should have been included anyway. Unfortunately most companies are in it for the money, they don't like to admit it and they'll swear up in down they are all for fans. But if they have a choice between making more money or appeasing the fans they'll choose the money everytime. Why not? It keeps them in business. And I'm not bashing Bioware, I think Bioware is a great company, but most companies are guilty of this. CDProjekt Red is one of the few companies who aren't in it for the money.
They are part of a dying breed.:crying:

One of the few sane and smart people. Ultimately EA is still neutral with me, in the past they have done some dumb things. Just this time... this time, they're in the right. It feels weird to defend them. It really does.

Except it isn't priced the same. They are steadily driving the prices up, day one DLCs are just the next step. The only reason it isn't included is due to monetary reasons. But oh well, kind of pointless telling people Bioware/EA is getting more and more moneygouging by the day if they've failed to see it themselves in the last couple of years. Personally I was really skeptic already with DA1 and everything afterwards has just been downhill. Nowadays I treat Bioware and EA the same way I treat Activision, do not touch with a ten-foot pole.

Well, was fun while it lasted.

Option C would be a waste of everyone god damn time, and on top of that the development team who did the core game would be split up all gone. I sure as hell know I wouldn't stick around 3 months praying to god I get rehired by Bioware for DLC work. More so if they have a family to feed. Meaning the original team who does the awesome game is shattered.

It wastes consumers time who want the DLC. It wasted the developers time, the programmers time. It just wastes everyone's god damn time. That's why option C isn't an option.
