Don't buy it until next year if you don't wanna ppl playing it, I'm buying my me3 copy off amazon.it for 37€, I have like 1500BW Points so i will spend my 800bwp on day 1 and I'll be happy (I'll even buy armor dlc for teammates).

 Read it again, folks.

CE owners get a code, like everyone else, no?  Just remove the code.

The main outcry seems to be that non-CE buyers are getting shafted and many of those non-CE buyers now demand - DEMAND - the DLC for free, as recompense for Bioware somehow "decieving and ripping them off".  This is the main argument going round.  This is their justification fo this demand.

So, Bioware simply takes the code out, and no one gets the DLC non the day, no one gets the "shaft" and everyone gets the same experience at the same time.  They re-release the code later, and then everyone at the same time can try the DLC and see definitively what difference it will supposedly make.

At no point did I say CE buyers will have to purchase it again - as they will already have done so - just that everyone gets it at the same time - long after the game has been played and fair comparisons can be made.

And then maybe all this agnsty butthurt will have a legitimate source.  Now I know this won't happen, hence it being just a suggestion.

Just postpone the DLC version so standard edition owners will stop complaining about day 1 DLC.

Meanwhile us CE owners can enjoy the Prothean mission for the cool little side-mission that it is.

No need to do that just don't activate the code on the download sites.

I got ME2 a bit early (well a lot early) but  I could not access the codes until the day of release.

Entitlement...SE owner are peasant. There a reason why you a treat like garbage you didn't buy the most expensive edition. Deal with it. Oh by the way i'm pretty sure I can put lawyer on this if they delay a DLC that was advertise as in the CE when game launch.

I have a request for op. Either buy the DLC or dont. But dont make stupid requests about it.

I don't have to buy it seperately, I pre-ordered my CE version long ago.  I'm actually willing to give it up if it'll shut people up who are so certain they're being treated unfairly - until they have the actual chance to test it for themselves.

I think that's perfectly fair.

No, because then they're deliberately holding back already completed game content from the core game because they want to charge extra for it. You don't understand the matter at all.

What everyone else said. This is one request that has 0.00% chance of happening. You could make a request towards the next in the franchise, but saying what you're saying in regards to ME3 is impossible. Never. Nope. Nada. No chance. Zilch. Impossible. No can do. Nuh-uh. The opposite of yes. There's a better chance of seeing Tali doing naked cartwheels on top of sovereign singing "I am woman, here we roar", then ever having BioWare do a full stop on the DLC due to this thread.

No.

Now I know this won't happen, hence it being just a suggestion.

In that case, it's not a suggestion; it's futility. Then again, most BSN suggestions fall under that category.

I really wish  people would stop making posts like this. It is beyond dumb and immature. Do the people who are complaining realize that not everyone has a problem with the dlc? Just cause you're pants are in a fix about this, doesn't mean everyone else also is. A lot of us just want to play everything Bioware throws at us because we are big enough fans. Sure, it sucks that we have to pay more money, but in the end my love of the Mass Effect universe is greater than the sting of losing 10 bucks.

Also, I realize that others have different opinions, such as you posting this thread. However, I don't go around posting stupid things like, "make more DLC" and every urge/opinion I feel surrounding the game. While this is a forum dedicated to Mass Effect and its fans to discuss things, its not a playground for all these people to troll and rage. Get over it. If you like Mass Effect, be happy, you're wait for ME3 is almost over. Play it, if you don't want to cause you can't get over the DLC, don't.

Wow it obviously doesn't matter if pre-release content is made available as day 1 or day 365 DLC, does it? The point is that it should've been on the disk regardless, and that we're being expected to pay money for content that is being purposefully withheld.

I'll play devils advocate and say that perhaps the game was getting near the budget max and they had to offer something as DLC, so now prothy the prothean is that DLC.

IDK, but that seemed the most rational excuse for this.

None the less CE should get the character day 1 as that would be the idea of a CE.

See, the biggest b!tch and moan is that "they" are getting ripped off.  They deserve recompense for something they believe they should have for the playing field to be fair.

So, make it fair.  If the complaints are legit - and we'll know if we all have the same game, no? - then the rest of us poor fools, we "Biodrones" can turn our righteous fury on those decievers and make them pay.

Otherwise, there's no case, and "they" can go back to moaning about some other "injustice".

You know what? screw that idea. I paid for my CE and I see no reason why I need to be lumped in with non CE owners. If they don't like having to pay for the Prothy, then too effing bad for them.

Alright. How can you guys justify having to pay for PROTHEAN DLC?? I mean, a goddamn Prothean isn't some mercenary--it's an enigma 50,000 years in the making, that is an integral part of the lore of Mass Effect.
Halo 3 may as well have had a Day 1 DLC--buy it or you don't get to meet a Forerunner.
Rowling--Pay an extra 10 bucks, and you'll get the Speshull Edition of The Deathly Hallows that includes Harry's talk with Dumbledore after being killed.
Star Wars--Pay 10 bucks, and you get the Scenes with Lando Calrissian.
Gears of War3- - Pay 10 bucks, and you get the Speshull Carmine DLC.
You get my point? You don't cut out stuff that's absolutely vital to the lore and story of a work just to make 10 bucks. It's a ****ing PROTHEAN!! How can you justify paying 10 dollars on release day for something that should be present anyways???
Yes, my jimmies are rustled.

It is honestly pretty easy to justify. Please note: I HAVE NOT READ THE SCRIPT. I HAVE NOT READ ANY SPOILERS. THIS IS PURE SPECULATION.

You meet the Protheans in the Standard Edition. You find out all the big secrets in the Standard Edition. All the plot relevant stuff. Prothy joins your squad as a cute easter egg and plays a stranger in a strange land role. Fun stuff (ala Shadow Broker info files), but all the critical interactions are done via the actual game plot, while Prothy emphasizes other things.

Seriously, until I see otherwise, I'm fairly convinced he's not going to be much more than Zareed/Kasumi.

You would be hard pressed to do that since it was never specified (before) that the DLC would be the Prothean squadmate and mission. All they'd have to do is give you another squadmate/mission and that's that.

My take on this is that we're only entitled to the content we pay for, that is, if the $60 of the SE end up paying this DLC we should get it. If not, then we shouldn't. Whether this was or wasn't cut content has now moved to the realm of speculation since Bioware has stated it wasn't content cut from the game. You can either take their word for it or not, but that's about it.

Was it a wasted opportunity? In terms of PR, I believe it was, yes. It would have been an excellent way to reward long-time fans by making it free DLC for owners of ME1 and ME2, thus garnering a ton of good will from the fanbase, especially considering this is the end of Shepard's journey. It just didn't happen and that's the end of it.

The better solution is still rewarding the SE owners 800 BW/MS/PSN points when they activate the online pass in March.

Sorry, but no. I paid 150 dollars for my Collector's Edition. Least they can give me is this bonus character and mission when they promised they would give it to me.

I am against the whole Day 1 DLC for 10 bucks matter, but taking it away from both parties is not going to make the crowd happier whatsoever.
