Yup, I agree with that. I was just making a point, since quite a few seem to think BioWare are the ones who determine release dates, when they aren't. EA gives them a schedule and they're expected to work according to that. That's pretty much it.Davidicus wrote...
That's true to an extent, but tell me, how can a company release DLC when it's not done? Of course BioWare has some influence on the release date. They worked hard these last 2-3 months after the game was done to allow the DLC to be available Day 1. Whether EA decided it should be Day 1 or not is irrelevant; BioWare supports the date. In hindsight, that may have been a mistake, but for those who can't get their hands on the CE because A) It's sold out,Fiery Phoenix wrote...
You guys keep assuming BioWare has anything to do with DLC release dates. It's all on EA, and they're not known for listening to fan requests. They don't have that much money, or C) They don't care about anything beyond the bonus character & mission, the DLC is a nice gesture.

Since I can afford it because I work, I'm happy to buy the DLC if I want it later.

Just a suggestion.
The manufactured controversy surrounding this first day release of the "Additional Character and Mission" is unbelievable.
A great many people seem to believe they deserve it for free because you - Bioware - have decieved them (even though they know exactly how you operate and aren't actually decieving them), made it your policy to cheat your players for a measly ten bucks (because that's what businesses do, right?), and are treating those who purchased the CE over SE preferentially, and the SE folks like garbage.
So - I propose that no one get this content. That way, first day games - CE or SE are - aside from some swag in the box, getting precisely the same experience.
No one cries, no one dies, and the teeming masses are happy again that light has returned to the world and all is fair.
At the end of the year, you release it.
Then everyone gets it for the same price at the same time, and we can know definitively that we still all got the same experience, and you Lying Corporate Tools And Money -grubbing Scum (or LCTAMS, or "Lactams", as I like to call you) still get your measly ten bucks to sleep on or buy high-class hookers with or snort coke off the Skyrim box or whatever it is Game Moguls do with it.
Everybody's happy, then.
Right?
I would actually be fine with this. I bought the CE. But hell, with or without one dlc, it isn't going to ruin my game experience.

In a nutshell, you idea was to screw everyone over because a few vocal morons think a $10 DLC is taking capitalism too far. Apparently $10 is a lot of money to some or people are just really taking this too symbolically, either way they're stupid.
But I get the feeling this was very tongue-in-cheek. I hope to god you were joking. If not...
I'm not going to wait a year for a DLC that is ready now. That's stupid and unnecessary. I don't even have the CE but it's INCREDIBLY unfair to say that this special $80 edition is going to have a DLC mission and a new character and then be like, "Ooops, sorry. Morons complained. Now no one gets it! YAY!"

Don't want to buy it right away then buy it end of the year, don't wish to buy it at all then don't.

Day 1 DLC is no surprise from BioWare so I don't understand the complaining by the ones who pre-ordered CE. Just because owners of CE get some exclusives, it does not mean the everything in the package is intended to be exclusive by BioWare. Those that buy the DLC will only get the DLC, not the rest of the package.

Of course I was. I said so. I gently suggest all read the whole thread. Then you would see that I said so.
The entire point was that it (what I was proposing) was as nonsensical as people demanding they get Prothman for free because Bioware had - so the story grows - very cruelly and viciously scammed them out of vital, utterly and completely vital content. Content no one - not even the CE buyers - are getting for free. Any contrary opinion and you are immediately labeled some mindless drone.
No one can deny the passion envinced elsewhere, it can even be seen as a compliment to Bioware (if you look at it a bit askew) and it's product that it can stir people so forcefully.
But that still doesn't justify the naked greed and tiresome sanctimony.

The mindless drone thing really irritates me. Sorry if I don't care that much about $10.
I predicted that this exact thing would happen. That would be pretty lame if they made a dedicated character for just the CE. I WANT the CE, it's just that it's sold out everywhere. I'm first on the waiting list at Gamestop but unless someone dies... Anyway, the point is that BW is not going to do all this work just for the few thousand copies of the CE and not make the content available for anyone else. Of course the only logical decision then would be to release it as DLC and seeing as how one of the features of the CE is the new squad mate, it has to cost something.
That was an obvious outcome.

Well, it's not my particular complaint, nor am I actually complaining about the DLC. Just the entire rhetorical cataclysm/spasm/hysteria/absurdity surrounding this DLC is centred not even on the entire DLC - just the Prothean character.
The "fact" of Bioware's growing hunger for outrage and perfidy powers the entire affair, the dastardly underhandedness that game companies perpetuate on the ignorant public and Bioware rooting through people's pockets for every last nickel forced out of them by offering them adjunct content.
You should be ashamed of yourselves, Bioware. This Prothean has important backstory to tell us!
You have money. We know you have money. You stole it from us by brainwashing us into buying your games and threatening our children's lives if we didn't play them over and over. You can afford to give this to us for free because we are entitled to as complete a game as humanly possible. There are no other arguments because...
Bioware Lies. No matter how reasonable the explanation. You gave us DA2 which is almost entirely identical to this and why we can safely compare the two over and over and over - that proves you can't be trusted!
Give us. Give, give, give or we will punish you.
How can this be seen any other way than absurd?
