Your ideas are bad and you should feel bad.
Thanks. I don't.
This simply illustrates what I've been saying - people react first and don't read what is actually being said, nor any follow-up. You take the OP at face value, rage, leave. The next does the same and the spiral begins.
This is a very large reason why all this unnecessary and mostly impotent rage rages over this 10 bucks.
We want it too bad, and I can say, I think, with some confidence we're all gonna feel a bit 'tarded when it's all said and done.

I don't often call requests dumb, but I think this one qualifies as a dumb request. The DLC is part of the CE and was supposed to be one of the rewards for those of us who purchased it. I actually felt sorry for people who couldn't get the CE and missed out, so personally, I was glad that SE owners, etc. got the chance to buy it.
This thread, however, and the ongoing sense of entitlement some people seem to display have now changed my mind. I'm starting to agree with those who think SE owners, etc. don't deserve access at all. So bravo, you've contributed to me going from wanting to share the content to believing that some people are so ungrateful that they don't deserve anything extra at all.
Well, I don't know if we can blame all of "them" outright. Like any so-called "revolution", there are always the ringleaders who stir stuff up simply for the sake of creating a storm. Most commit no worse "crime" than simply being lazy and just believing what suits them. The plausible is easy. It's not always true, but it's easy. It's our nature to want something for nothing, rolling down that road of least resistance. It's not a crime. It can be as tacky as hell, but it's not a crime.
Some are extremely self-centred and ungrateful, and those, like you who try to be gracious, will feel it the most. They don't care. They want what they want and if they can pressure BW to actually do something, to "cave" even a bit, they "win" - whatever it is they think they win.
Unfortunately, in the end, we all lose - especially if those same "grubbing" companies decide we don't deserve anything extra.

I love how this place has been so crazy recently that people are willing to take anything seriously. Reading this thread has been a great source of entertainment.
Glad you like it. I'm not trying to stir anything up, (granted, on BSN it takes virtually nothing) just hoping to get some to stop and think. It might be a lost cause, it might not. I'm cool with outcomes. I take nothing personally. Hopefully we can keep it all calm, avoid the spasms and have a good think.

I see your point and it may have worked before this was leaked... just because its a month and most people would have not thought much about it. Capcom did something simular not the same but close enough... people raged but it got over shadowed buy other things... most by Capcom cancelling Mega Man legends 3 and the leak about the Ultimate version...
Still now... cat is out the bag and house is out the barn and who every has been put off has already been put off.. you mighty get some back but others - like myself are like - "yeah whatever.

An admirable goal, but one that is unlikely to be achieved. This place is a madhouse; especially the general discussion section. Avoiding spasms and thinking are two things that do not happen here.JakeMacDon wrote...

Re: CE. You can't postpone this DLC, it would be breach of contract towards CE-preorders. However, those who are saying 'you should have bought the CE', enough stores already have run out of CEs I believe...
Re: First-day DLC. It's becoming quite a nuisance. I can understand their reasoning for it, but it's getting annoying. Granted, BW first-day DLC albeit often occuring those days isn't as much as of some other studios... (I am looking at you Saints Row the Third!)

Yeah, I edited my previous post after reading what you said later. Sorry, but my ability to detect subtle jesting is currently toast in these forums. I think part of this mess is related to the ME2 & Zaeed situation and the lack of clarity on BW's end. Maybe it would have helped if BW had flat-out explained it in no uncertain terms that the DLC was supposed to be CE-only and dished early about Prothy. On the other hand, I can see why they didn't want to spill the details because it was rather a nifty surprise for those of us who ordered the CE.
Meh, maybe there's nothing you can ultimately do to satisfy anyone, because all the angry people believe what they want and will find their proof anywhere, including the leaked script and other DLC like Shale from DA:O, etc. Prothy is a cool addition, but I don't think he's more important than other characters just by virtue of his being a (supposedly true) Prothean. If he were the key to victory over the Reapers, people might have a reason to complain then, but that's clearly not the case.

Don't kid yourself about this reaction, all this fuss is not about day 1 DLC for most people, they were content with it all this time until they learned about what race it was then started throwing a hissy over it.

I don't.
I don't think it is fair to punish those (moi), just because a select group of people throw a hissy over the race of character which until that time were happy with existing. It should stay as it currently is. CE gets it free, SE buys it if wishes to have it. Ones throwing tantrums can take it or leave it.

Well, the point is that the "outrage" is, at least in my opinion, based on incorrect/incomplete information and is vastly out of proportion to the "crime" committed. The longer this goes on, the more it looks like a few greedy consumers trying to wheedle something for nothing simply because they think they have an excuse. This "moral imperative" and "standing on principles" stuff is as full of bullsh!t as it sounds. Some genuinely believe that, but most are "smelling blood" and jumping on the bandwagon.
"Cash grab" by EA? Maybe. There are worse things in the universe than a gaming company trying to get 10 bucks outta you they would have gotten eventually anyway.
The actual "moral high ground", the actual "acting on principles" is to return all of your EA/Bioware products, renounce the company, boards and future products and step away from everything involved - including Battlefield, COD, ME and everything else EA makes.
Not to pick and choose what you'll be outraged about this month.
All of it. Now. Never come back.
Then you have stood tall against this company and you should rightly be congratulated for your principles.
Otherwise, you're just talking out your hypocritical butthole, and really need to STFU.

Doesn't mean it shouldn't be attempted. A few sane among the madmen can do a lot, especially if there is method to their madness.

A much more direct and clean way to deal with the situation. Boycotting the company and everything they produce is a stupid and irrational stance.

Completely understandable.

It can't be an easy line to walk. You want to give folks worthwhile content. You also don't want to spoil it. But there are those who are never bloody satisfied and wouldn't know patience it if walked over and unloaded a Claymore up their butts. Personally, if I were to condemn Bioware for anything, it's their crappy timing. It's like a wedding proposal at a funeral. On one hand, it is kinda life-affirming, but on the other it's just the wrong place and the wrong time, with the wrong people.
Meh, maybe there's nothing you can ultimately do to satisfy anyone, because all the angry people believe what they want and will find their proof anywhere, including the leaked script and other DLC like Shale from DA:O, etc.
...and pulling it out of their rear ends...
Prothy is a cool addition, but I don't think he's more important than other characters just by virtue of his being a (supposedly true) Prothean. If he were the key to victory over the Reapers, people might have a reason to complain then, but that's clearly not the case.
Well, according to the "highly principled" decryers looking for free stuff, it is precisely because he is a mythical Prothean that he's so bleeding important, which ironically, is why BW cut him out of the script in the first place. That he's an unnecessary plot device centred around deus ex machina (which is always bad writing no matter who does it. Can't work your way out of the corner you've written yourself into? Ah! Magic-Solve-It-All-Superweapon. Easy. Done.) doesn't bother anyone. Bothers me. It's insulting to my intelligence.
Still... they want it, they don't wanna pay for it, and that's all there is to it.
