I was once charging at a phantom, did nova and followed by heavy melee and her health bar dropped to 0. She still did the animation and killed me and we both fell dead right as she was done.

Exactly. It doesn't happen all the time (usually they just try regular attack or they use their palm-gun) but occasionally it happens, and it's annoying as hell. You have one or two of them about polished off and suddenly you get magnetized toward a Phantom and die.

What's even better is reviving yourself, holding down A to storm to cover and the phantom will suck you in from 5 feet away and instakill you right out of revive. Happened at least 10 times to me.

I've noticed that if they don't instant kill you, a lot of times they'll wait around until you ARE dead. Sometimes they'll even cloak and wait for someone to come revive you and then instant kill them too.
They need to be given troll faces. <_<

I do like that instant kill stab animation. It's just "trololo u dead" in your face

And the "dragged from 10 feet away" is a lag issue. I've done the same thing to a nemesis that was trying to run away from the cover I'd just caught her behind. She slid 10 feet back into cover just so I could grab her.
Also, I've lived through the insta-kill before. It happens if you get your shields back RIGHT as the animation starts. Happened as a Krogan twice, and as a Salarian Infiltrator once (Energy Drain'd her right before she started, ended up living through the animation)

Anyone remember the scene in the original Jaws film where the mayor is trying to explain to Chief Brody about even mentioning a shark attack off the shores of Amity?
Mayor- Martin, It's all psychological. You yell 'Barracuda,' everybody says 'Huh? What?' You yell 'Shark,' and we've got a panic on our hands on the Fourth of July!
It's almost like when someone's character class will yell, "Nemesis!" Everyone is like, pftt.........big deal, take it out. But when some says "PHANTOM!", and you see those purple letters moving in your vicinity..............they might as well be playing the theme from Jaws whenever she shows up.
And the way she approaches you, sort of like the way you would see a shark's fin gliding through the water and moving steadily but purposefully towards you.
Dum, dum, dum,dum, dum, dum, dum, dum, dum............................

Well, some people like eating sharks, and some like chasing down Phantoms. Regardless of my class, whenever I see that purple barrier bar and the name 'Phantom' stamped over it, I usually start running, or aiming, in that direction. I'll only run away if I'm low on health, ammo, or all squad members are lying at the feet of that Phantom.
