So i want to make a Assault rifle wielding Adept but i'm not sure what squad mates to bring, the min/maxer in me says Bring Garrus and Ash but i'd rather bring Liara as shes typically my LI in the game. Is the idea of a two Adept + Garrus squad a bad one?

The only issue will be how good you are shooting floating targets. Actually there are only a few missions heavy on drones that are immune to biotics that will give you trouble, the rest should be easy.

yeah the rogue VI quest comes to mind but i can always bench Liara and bring Wrex or Tali for that.

Biotics has only been toned down in ME2, in the first game it's a major ass-kicker, so you should have no problem with Adept and Liara (bring someone tech-savy as the third for electronics and decryption). Man I miss direct control (no assuming pun inteded) of every squadmate from KotORs.
