Um, so I was wondering, after a battle, when shields are left up from the fight, do you get experience for shooting them down?
dumb question about shields

When you say "shields are left up from the fight" do you mean the hexagonal shields that Geth like to erect during a fight? If that is your question, then no, shooting those shields does not yield any experience points, whether you shoot them down during a fight or after a fight.
If you meant something else, please clarify.

I shoot them out anyway, it's messy to leave them behind (a bit of gaming OCD there!)

Guilty of this too.
I hate it when you try to jump them in the mako and get stuck on them.
